It’s Summer Here! YAY (I think). The kids are out of school for many of us, or they will be soon, and their time at home is more than we really know how to fill. Well, I decided to browse through the Lilypad gallery for some Summer Bucket List Ideas and here’s what I found!
1. Take a nap. hehe… OK, so this one is probably for those of you without small children in the house, but it’s still a great Summer activity and I recommend scheduling it for a day when you know you are gonna need it.
2. Visit a Strawberry Patch… or Blueberry… or Farmer’s Market. Take the kids if you have them and show them the wonders of fresh fruit. You know you’ve had enough Gummy Fruit Snacks anyway.
3. Read some books. At least one. Just for you. A trashy novel (shhh… I didn’t say that), a tear jerker (if that’s your thing), something educational (although I don’t recommend this). Just take some time to enjoy a good book.
4. Hit the Pool. It’s a perfect way to cool off and get little ones exhausted. Bonus.
5. Plan a date. With your kids. One at at time. Believe me, they will love it.
6. Find a Fair. Check your surrounding areas and see where you may be able to go enjoy a fair. State fairs are super fun and a great way to spend a day. And many towns have local fairs. Do some research and put it on your schedule.
7. Head to the Park. Simple. Fun. Time-consuming. A wonderful Summertime activity!
8. Plant a summer garden. It doesn’t have to be a big crazy complicated thing. Just a container herb garden will fuel the imagination of little ones and fulfill a need in you to accomplish something.
9. Make Iced Coffee. Go ahead and try it. Something that has made Starbucks millions of dollars can’t be all bad, right? You may just find a new obsession.
10. Make a complete meal over an open fire. Hotdogs, potatoes and S’mores, for example. Fun!
11. Go Fishing. You can get some great photo ops and have a relaxing, fun time. Bonus points if you eat what you catch ;)
12. Go camping. In your backyard. Or, at the very least, go outside and tell ghost stories with flashlights under your face, hehe…
Let me know what’s on your Summer Bucket List!
