Well Hello There Fab Pad Scrappers!

Polly Liana here, bursting at the seams to show you our newest BYOC for March.  Yep, it’s the first Friday of the month so it’s time to unveil our new BYOC.  What’s BYOC, you ask?  It stands for Build Your Own Collection and it’s one of the very best things about the Lilypad.  Every month, our amazing designers collaborate around a palette and general theme.  Then, they work their magic to create products using those colors and ideas.  Even though we have a very diverse collection of designers, every product in this collection will coordinate.  Genius, right?  You can select a template from your favorite template designer, elements and papers from your favorite kit designer and alphas & journal cards and in they end, everything works together.  It’s like building your very own Designer Dream Team!

This month’s palette features colors that have the faintest beginnings of spring.  Delicate pastels and light warm tones with a beautiful pop of bright icy turquoise to remind us (over her in the west) that winter is not quite over yet.  Let’s take a look at this month’s beautiful offerings for BYOC…

I’m a creative who pulls inspiration from all corners of life—both the joyful highs and the real-life moments that punch you in the gut. Honestly, I don’t think I can pin down a single scrapbooking style for myself, so let’s just go with eclectic. My layouts really depend on my mindset. If I’m in a deep, cerebral mood, you’ll likely see something chaotic and messy. If I’m more relaxed, it tends to come out clean, simple, and structured.

My brain is usually running on several channels at once, so it’s completely normal for me to be working on a digital layout, dabbling in a hybrid project, and getting messy with art journaling or mixed media—all at the same time.

Here are a few of my go-to tools: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CC + my MacBook; Photos: Canon Rebel or iPhone; Hybrid: Cricut Joy + sewing machine; Art Journaling: watercolors, stencils, and artsticks

And when it comes to embellishments—digital or physical—I’m always reaching for messy threads, ribbons, and Polaroids. Always the Polaroids.
