The post you’ve all been waiting for! Or at least, I’ve been waiting for. I challenged the Pollys to choose one of their old layouts and remake it, using the same or new product. I won’t babble on today, let’s just get to the good stuff and see what magic the Pollys have worked on their old layouts!
First up, one of TLP’s designers joined in the fun! Heather shared this old layout:
And she refashioned it into this super-cute layout (I love the photo-strip styling and how the story takes center stage!):
Next up is Christine, with two beautiful versions of a layout from her son’s baby album. Both are lovely, but I especially like the focus on the name and the story in the second one. And how cute are those little pinned-up embellishments on the branch?
Angie was gracious enough to let us all see this colorful (and completely unshadowed!) layout using retired Lauren Grier products – I do love the big photo, though! And not that there’s anything wrong with no shadows… except maybe on buttons! (Angie, you know we love you!)
Although her shadowing on the second layout adds depth and realism, my favorite part of the makeover is her addition of journaling. And I think that photo looks great in color! (with Head in the Clouds by Valorie Wibbens and Paislee Press and Phlox templates by Sara Gleason)
Next to accept the challenge was Kelly, who shared an adorable layout of her artistic little boys. I love the zoomed-in photos on this one:
And I love that she kept the great detail shot and added another tightly cropped photo of her son’s colorful face on the second layout. Beautiful photo treatments, too – and that title! Cracks me up, especially since my own little boys love to secretly drink their paint water.
Of course, I couldn’t challenge my fellow Pollys without challenging myself, too. I chose a layout almost exactly two years old for a makeover. I love the photos and heartfelt journaling, but the colors? Style? Element choice? Huge staples? Not so much.
For the new version, I chose to use The Lilypad’s Summer Bucket List collab to convey a more summery, carefree feeling. I love how my new page uses bright, happy colors, and trendy chevron and sunburst patterns (which I’m kind of obsessed with right now!).
I hope this fun post inspired you to either pull out some old photos to scrap with your new supplies, or dig deep into your EHD and pull out some old supplies to use with your new photos. Or even better yet, mix and match the old and new! If you tackle a layout makeover, we would LOVE to see it, please link us up in the comments. Happy Wednesday, and don’t forget to check out the SOSN category in the store today!

That was like my third digi layout EVER. LOL
