Have you seen that this week (until July 31) Christmas, Winter, and Document Your December (DYD) products are all on sale for 35% off?
I don’t tend to actually celebrate Christmas in July but I love that it inspires me to get out previous Christmas photos that I have a backlog of and feel a bit over and burnt out on by the time December is near done, given the stores have been playing carols on repeat since October. Let me share a bit of inspo I’ve seen in the gallery recently and what I’m loving or taking from them. Click on any of them to see them full size in the gallery!
This page by garrynkim makes me think of wrapping paper and I want to use *all* the patterned papers! She has achieved expert level at mixing colours and patterns!
The rays on this page by LivyBug is another brilliant way to use all the patterned papers and channel the crazy energy of Christmas with kids.
This pocket page by Ga_L has me thinking I need to convert more of my Christmas photos to black and white, how good does this look with those pocket cards. And she made this in the Project Life app! Such a great way to create a multi-photo memory page if you are way behind on Remembering December events!
This page by annsofie reminds me how good pocket cards also look as elements on freestyle and traditional layouts and about documenting holiday traditions. They look like mini-Christmas cards and are also perfect for easy tags (and if you haven’t seen, Becca Bonneville has rounded up a whole bunch of cool hybrid tags featured here with extra tips as well)
More literal pockets, beautifully stuffed and those decorations are both used to wonderful effect above by scrappychyck. Any pocket card can be turned into this sort of pocket by cutting out or masking out a half circle from the middle of the top edge (or side edge depending on how you situate your card on the page) but bonus, Allison Pennington has included a cut file in this Pockets pack to make life easier, and there’s a few versions along with the half circle look.
by Isa MarksAnd lastly this page by Isa Marks with that folded tree, full of realistic dimension, makes me want to reach thru my screen to hold this and look at it from all the angles! This would make a great tag addition as well. Diecut 2 of the same tree (or ornament shape) and straight-stitch sew them together down the midline attaching to a basic shipping tag, boom, done and super cool!
Feeling inspired? Great, make sure to join in Robin Mocamom’s Summer Bucketlist 2023 challenge to earn this week’s pin for your collection!
