Product Highlight: It’s Fair & Carnival Time!

‘Tis the season for county fairs, state fairs, and carnivals of every kind! I’m talking rides, games, boardwalks, tickets, tokens, and food – aaah, the food!!  Here’s a look at some of the fantabulous TLP goodies that can help you get those fair and carnival photos scrapped while the memories are still fresh! Vintage Carnival – Krista Sahlin of Sahlin Studio has a fantastic collaboration with Jenn Barrette that is perfect carnival goodness through and through. There is a kit with lots of gorgeous elements and papers, as well as word strips and word art, a vintage style alpha, and even a set of fab tickets!

Funland – Jacque Larsen has a fun, vibrant set of papers and paper pieces that just scream carnival fun… merry-go-rounds, clowns, food, games, and fun!

County Fair Picnic– Another fabulous element set and paper pack by Sahlin Studio that is perfect for capturing that county fair feel.

American Pastime – Maybe thinking outside the box a little on this one, since at first glance it appears to be a pack of baseball elements. But this would be perfect to add those peanuts, hot dogs and cotton candy that go along with the whole fair experience. Plus, it’s a two-for-one, since it can also be used to scrap those baseball pics as well!

Land of Fantasy– Think tea cup rides, spinning sausers, ride tickets, fair banners… this kit has a little of everything. Plus it’s unique color scheme is a break from the norm when it comes to fair photos!

Tickets – You can’t get on the fair rides without your tickets! These next two packs are both great ticket possibilities!

Carnival Alphas – Finally, CD has some fantastic stand-alone alphas that are completely gorgeous and were designed with carnival in mind!

I’m a creative who pulls inspiration from all corners of life—both the joyful highs and the real-life moments that punch you in the gut. Honestly, I don’t think I can pin down a single scrapbooking style for myself, so let’s just go with eclectic. My layouts really depend on my mindset. If I’m in a deep, cerebral mood, you’ll likely see something chaotic and messy. If I’m more relaxed, it tends to come out clean, simple, and structured.

My brain is usually running on several channels at once, so it’s completely normal for me to be working on a digital layout, dabbling in a hybrid project, and getting messy with art journaling or mixed media—all at the same time.

Here are a few of my go-to tools: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CC + my MacBook; Photos: Canon Rebel or iPhone; Hybrid: Cricut Joy + sewing machine; Art Journaling: watercolors, stencils, and artsticks

And when it comes to embellishments—digital or physical—I’m always reaching for messy threads, ribbons, and Polaroids. Always the Polaroids.
