We’re launching an exciting new feature at The Lilypad today! Polly Picks will showcase a member of our creative team, the Pad Pollywogs, by sharing their style and their favorite items in the shop. We’re beginning with Amanda Resende, a very talented scrapper, who is known throughout digi for her artistic and eye-catching pages. Amanda uses an eclectic mix of paint, brushes and stitches to achieve her signature look. Add a pop of bold shapes and brightly colored patterns and finish with some fun tape, then you have Amanda Resende style!

Want to know a little more about Amanda? She says, “I am Amanda aka amandaresende and I’ve been digi-scrapping since 2005. I am stay-at-home mom to three kids and we live in Maricá, a small town in the country side of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Scrapbook is my passion and hobby. If I have some time for me, I usually spend it scrapping!! I love patterns and colors and I can’t scrap without stitches and paints. I also love reading, movies, TV shows, music and photography.”

Amanda inspires us with her attention to detail. The layered paint and brushwork, along with the ever-present stitches that she loves so much are key elements of her style. You’ll notice that she doesn’t use just one pack of paint; she often mixes them for a unique look. If you’re looking for a way to add visual interest to your own pages, Amanda’s brushwork style is a great way to do it. She always has bits of stamping to anchor her focal photos and more peeking at the edges to unify her pages. It’s those details that make us sigh with an impressed “Ohhhhhhhh!!!” when we spot one of her pages in the gallery.
