Hello everyone! It’s a new month and that means a whole new batch of challenges here at The Lilypad. It’s Polly Karen here and I’m here to give you a quick overview of all the new challenges for November. Each month we have 8 brand new challenges that are posted in the forum Challenge Pad on the 1st day of the month. (the BYOC Challenge is posted on the 1st Friday of the month.) You can use the challenges simply to inspire you to keep creating new layouts OR you can also earn yourself a fabulous coupon for your next shopping trip in the Lilypad Store. (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%). Those who complete at least 7 challenges will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate! Isn’t that an awesome prize?!?! You’ll get lots of great memories captured in your scrapbooks AND you could win a fat gift certificate prize!!! Pretty great, right?! So let’s take a look at this month’s new batch of challenges!
1. BYOC Challenge – First up this month we have the BYOC Challenge. This challenge is hosted by Heather (HeatherB) and the challenge is to use 90% of the products on your page from November’s BYOC collection and from at least 3 designers. Here’s a great sample layout Heather created for this challenge:
2. Scraplift Challenge – November’s Scraplift Challenge is hosted by Ashley (ashleywb) and she chose to have you play a fun game of scraplift tag this month. Simply go to the Scraplift Challenge thread and reply to that thread that you want to play along. Then you will go to the gallery of the person who posted right before you and choose a layout you love from their gallery and create your own layout inspired by their layout. Ashley scraplifted the following layout from Natasha (bcnatty) and then created her own scraplifted version below:
3. Style Challenge – The host for this month’s Style Challenge is Cynthia (MrsPeel) and she is challenging you to create a layout with a split photo on it. Her thread in the forum has a bunch of amazing examples of this style to get you started too. Here’s in one that Cynthia created for this month:
4. Random Challenge – The Random Challenge for November is hosted by Lori (lcpereyra) and she has picked a product challenge this month. Lori wants to see your layout include at least 3 different leaf elements. Lori created this gorgeous layout including leaves:
5. Photography Challenge – The Photography Challenge for this month is being hosted by the fabulous Em (Justagirl) and she wants you to have some fun with a series of photos this month. You must take a series of at least 3 photos within seconds of each other and then frame them together in a photo booth/passport style photo mat. Here’s a great sample layout Em created to get you started:
6. Inspiration Challenge – Jenn (jk703) is your host for the Inspiration Challenge for November. Jenn found an amazing embroidery artist on Instagram and wants you to take inspiration from her amazing images. She wants you to choose one of her images/creations and use that as inspiration for your layout by looking at the style, color, texture and/or environment and share what inspired you. Here’s the image the Jenn chose, followed by the layout it inspired her to create:
7. Template Challenge – The next challenge for November is the template challenge. Christa (cfile) is hosting the Template Challenge for this month. The challenge is to use the free template supplied by Liz of Scrapping with Liz and create a layout using it. Here’s a look at the free template followed by a sample that Christa created:
8. Journaling Challenge – The final challenge for this month is the Journaling Challenge hosted by Natasha (bcnatty). Natasha wants you to create a layout with journaling all about your day job. She also says that if you’re lucky enough not to have to join the rat race like her, you can journal about a hobby you are passionate about. Your journaling should include at least 50 words. Here is a great peek at Natasha’s day job:
Challenge Galleries: (post your pages to these galleries)
There is your at-a-glance overview of this month’s brand new batch of challenges. Once you create your own layouts inspired by these challenges, be sure to post them to the appropriate galleries as listed above. Then be sure to also post them to the appropriate thread in the challenge forum. See the thread HERE for further challenge guidelines and see the November Challenge Pad HERE to get started! Don’t forget to post all of your completed layouts in the Challenge Layouts thread so we can be sure to get you the proper coupon at the end of the month. I’ll be back near the end of the month to shine my spotlight on some of the pages created for these challenges! I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Happy scrapping!
