I’ve been a fan of summarizing my monthly highlights for a long time. I love looking back at the end of each month and seeing all my photos and all the things I’ve done. By doing this, it gives me a sense of a life well-lived, even though time continues to fly by with blazing speed. :)
I do a Month-In-Review blog post on my blog after the end of every month. To do this, I first create a collage in Adobe Lightroom made of my favorite photos of the month.
Then I pull up my collage in Photoshop and add a month and year header to my collage.
Then I put the completed collage on my blog and write bullet point list of all the things that happened in the month. You can see an example of my blog Month-In-Review blog posts here.
I also print out my collages at home on 8.5×11 photo paper.
Then I use Photoshop to copy and paste my bullet list from my blog into a 8.5×11 Photoshop template that I made. I print the journaling out onto a piece of textured cardstock. Then I cut up the collage to fit the front and back of my cardstock.
When it’s done, I put it into a 8.5×11 sheet protector and stick it right into my Project Life album!
It’s a simple way to document a whole month and I love that I had 12 of these photo collage Month-In-Review layouts in 2012!
If you would like to give Month-In-Review scrapbooking a try, here are some products at The Lilypad that you could use to scrapbook a month-in-review page.
Valorie Wibbens has a cute All In A Month template for month in review scrapbook page.
Amy Martin has some Calendar Grids that you could use for photos and journaling your month in review.
Amy also has these Monthly Gridlock templates that are perfect for scrapping your month.
Sara Gleason has these Aspen templates which showcases many photos of your month.
Sahlin Studio has In Review: Modern templates for scrapbooking your favorite photos of the month.
You can add some cute elements to your Month In Review scrapbooking with One Little Bird’s In Review element pack.
Month-In-Review scrapbooking is an easy way to document a whole month. You can even include these layouts in your Project 365 or Project Life album. I hope you found some inspiration to start your own month-in-review pages! :)

This is awesome Christine! Love seeing the collage of pics altogether. Pinning so I’ll remember to do this!
Thanks for sharing Christine!! LOVE your idea! You make it seem “do-able” :))
I came across your blog a few years ago and have been following it ever since! I love it! I was just asking about this topic in the forum not too long ago. I am inspired by your monthly recap using the list and collage and have decide to do this for 2013. I did a photo a day last year but sort of relied on the app and didn’t scrap the pages and now I can’t easily get the photos and journaling from it – so this year I decided to keep a running list (much like you!) simply using notes on my iphone and snap photos throughout the month. I’m planning on doing a digital PL-ish layout using Valorie Wibbens templates (and maybe some other ones that you pointed out above!) and of course a mix of all the fabulous goodies at TLP that I must have. I’m looking forward to seeing how my first layout for January turns out this weekend.
Thanks for this great post and inspiration!
Such a great post! Thanks, Christine!
What a fantastic idea and I’m going to do it. What a treat it would be to be able to look through a month / quarter / year and have all the memories come back.
Thanks for suggesting it – it’s appreciated.

I love your photoshop template for each month! Would you be willing to share?
