Mondays Hybrid Challenge
It’s the Canada Day long weekend here and I’m very excited to post this weeks challenge. Since I (Rez) am part of the Hybrid team here at the Lilypad I decided to do a hybrid project. I hope you will enjoy it and decide to come play.
But before we get into the challenge a huge congratulations goes out to the winner for last weeks challenge with Just Me and My RV.

This week I chose a project that would be simple for everyone to try. Your challenge is to create an altered/hybrid frame using at least 75% TLP products. I have included a mini tutorial to get you in the mind frame and hopefully help you along the way. If your new to hybrid, this is a perfect project to get you started and it finishes up beautiful.
Lets make a hybrid/altered Frame…
It is easy to find things around the house for this one. Try to find a simple frame, I suggest buying one at the dollar store or maybe you have one lying around that you don’t really like. Also, you can make your own frame with cardboard and ribbon to hang. The possibilities are endless and it all depends on what you want in the end. Here I have altered a frame I bought from the dollar store (a silver plain frame that stands on its own). I haven’t shown it in the materials because at first I was going to just make a hanging frame and then changed my mind after I took the pictures and started the project.
I hope you can read the writing, I have a huge screen so I can see it perfectly so for those who cannot…
1. Trace the frame onto the cereal box cardboard, cut it out and add accents to the bottom layer. For this project I designed the frame contents digitally using Tree House Paper Pieces and Home Tweet Home by Jacque Larsen and Jenna Desai’s Organic mini kit available in TLP boutique. Finally, I mounted the cardboard overtop of the glass and base of the dollar store frame. You can design your frame to border a picture behind the glass also.
2. Cut out your digital images and use pop dots to create a 3D look. As you can see by my digital print out, I printed out multiple copies of my images so I could cut them out and layer them on the frame.
Your next step is to mount the cardboard onto the actual frame base and finish layering your project with your other elements and physical products. And here is the finished frame.

Remember to be eligible for the gift certificate for this weeks challenge, you must use 75% The-LilyPad products and create a hybrid/altered frame of some sort.
