Hello! Today I’d like to share a simple and fun project for your autumn decorating – wall art! Using digital art and digital scrapbooking kits are perfect for creating new framed art for your seasonal decor. It also helps you stretch your supplies and I love doing these projects as I just enjoy getting creative. In less than a couple of hours you can have something new and lovely hanging on your walls to celebrate the season.
For this project, I used Paislee Press’ new wall art – Fall State of Mind, and a variety of autumn themed elements from Allison Pennington – Autumn Feelings, and Sahin Designs – Boo & Stuff and Fall is For to create my artwork.
I wanted to add shimmer to my design, so I printed the word art on my laser printer and foiled it with deco foil and a Cricut Easy Press (a heat press machine – similar concept to a very large iron). I don’t have a laminating machine or a larger specialty Minc machine, so I experimented and discovered that the Easy Press worked well – yay!
I printed the digital elements on cardstock and hand cut them (fussy cutting). I then added some hand stitching with embroidery thread to add texture and interest to a few of the larger leaves.
A little bit of adhesive and the design was created on a larger piece of cardstock and inserted into my frame.
Voila! My new wall art is complete and adds some fun festive decor that I love!
I hope this inspires you to think about new ways you can use your digital scrapbooking kits to create art projects!
