What’s Up Pad Scrappers?

Polly Liana here with the awesome task of introducing you to the newest BYOC for April.  For those of you just joining us, BYOC stands for Build Your Own Collection.  Every month on the first Friday, our fab designers release a bunch of great new products.  What’s so great about these products is that they’re all designed using the same palette and ideas as inspiration.  So, no matter what you purchase, everything with magically and beautifully coordinate.  Cool, huh?

This month’s palette has the cool blues of the outgoing winter mixed with the bright warm tones and pastels of early spring.  One thing I really like about this particular collection is the variety this month.  There are kits about autism, cats, space, dancing, sadness, babies, New York, fresh beginnings and meet ups.  Pretty much something for everyone!!  That’s what I love about our designers and the Lilypad in general: there is no one “box” into which everything fits.  There are products that will meet your needs, whether you’re scrapping your emotions, travels or everyday comings and goings.  The only consistent thing about our products is the quality and value.

I’m a creative who pulls inspiration from all corners of life—both the joyful highs and the real-life moments that punch you in the gut. Honestly, I don’t think I can pin down a single scrapbooking style for myself, so let’s just go with eclectic. My layouts really depend on my mindset. If I’m in a deep, cerebral mood, you’ll likely see something chaotic and messy. If I’m more relaxed, it tends to come out clean, simple, and structured.

My brain is usually running on several channels at once, so it’s completely normal for me to be working on a digital layout, dabbling in a hybrid project, and getting messy with art journaling or mixed media—all at the same time.

Here are a few of my go-to tools: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CC + my MacBook; Photos: Canon Rebel or iPhone; Hybrid: Cricut Joy + sewing machine; Art Journaling: watercolors, stencils, and artsticks

And when it comes to embellishments—digital or physical—I’m always reaching for messy threads, ribbons, and Polaroids. Always the Polaroids.
