What's in a name? | Pad Patter 11.14

i still think of u as JennyVang (cos i read it initially as Jen-E-Vang) and you know how it's hard to un-learn something? yep, that, so feel free to think of me as BlueBell - but apparently thats a US specific icecream reference LOL hopefully they're a high-quality brand!

See, it's weird if you don't know the Evangelista part :). And YES, Bluebell is awesome ice cream! I'm sort of craving some now that I've been thinking about it :giggle

Mine is the name of my blog but in a couple of places I have used my real name. Even back when (the 80s) it was suggested that you make some fake name, all electronic communication was being recorded so .... false security.

cookingmylife is actually easy for me to type now. The fingers learn! That moniker actually refers to cooking food but more so creating (cooking) a life out of various choices (ingredients).

I am "boring" as well and just used my first initial, middle initial and last name. It was my first email address and just the easiest thing to remember. I didn't realize how active I would get on this site or I would have tried to be more creative!!! :)

My brother actually helped me come up with my username, back when I first started on the internet. Our cat growing up was named Zippy, and OH is for Ohio.

Well, I wanted my user name to be Scarlett, after my fave character from Gone With The Wind . . . but then I thought peeps would think that was really my name . . . so I just decided to use the phrase gonewiththewind as my user name instead.

I think mine is fairly self explanatory - tinkerbell (my fav Disney character) and 1112 is my birthday :) I'll tell you it's very hard to write out though - with the 2 l's and 3 1's in a row. hahahaha

this has been my user name for pretty much everything since I started on the internet :) I have one other one I've used periodically, but this one has stuck the most

Love that you use the double meaning of cooking to also included your creating.

Very clever... I always think of the Disney song zip-a-dee-doo-dah from Song of the South, when I see your username. It's a fun, happy song and puts a smile on my face.

I agree people would have thought your name was Scarlett if you had picked that.

I started designing in 2009 for another site, so that's where my name came from. Hoping to get back into designing after the New Year. I "retired" in January for a much needed break.

I too used my username for designing. A few years back I was keepscrappin designs. I did templates. But when the store I was at closed, I joined a bunch of CTs and I decided I liked scrappin more than designing. I do hope you can get back to your designing though. It's always nice to have a break to refresh, but if you love designing you should go for it.

I love tinkerbell too and typing all those l's and 1's in a row would be hard.

My username is my first name and then a shortened version of my last name. I think it came about because I was just going to be DawnM but then that was taken so I used DawnMarch. I sometimes wonder if people think I am in the military and love getting up early to march. :D I'm not and I don't.

I get people thinking my name is Katie sometimes, but KayTeaPea is supposed to be my initials (KTP) spelled out. My real name is Kelly. When I first started using message boards, I went by twokids (on TwoPeas), then had a third child, so switched to 3kids. After a while, I wanted to be just me, not the fact that I have three children. Plus, some people evidently really dislike calling human children kids, so I got that a lot!

Lor is what I go by at most sites, it's short for my real name Laurie. Everyone in real life calls me Lor, so I went with it. :-)

Good to know... I thought the March might have been for your birth month. One of my girls has a march birthday.

Cute idea to spell out your initials. I have to admit I thought you were a Katie before I saw your siggy. hehe

Berniek isn't boring to me. I had never heard of that name before seeing it here and have often wondered how to pronounce it. You do very well with English. I didn't know it was a second language for you. What's your primary language?
I'm from the Netherlands, so Dutch would be my first language. :) thanks for the nice words, I agree that my English nowadays is pretty okay but I did learn it at school and tv/music/books/vacation. So my accent is kinda all over. It's mostly British but some words or phrases are always American and there is even some Australian in there. When I lived in Canada multiple people asked me if I was from France, so I guess that's in my accent too? It's weird because I'm definitely not French. It changes a lot depending on the books I've been reading or shows I've been watching too.
About the pronunciation, my English version is just Bernie with a K at the end. The Dutch version is kinda like this: "ber" as bear and "niek" which sounds like geek or freak. Haha.

I was close on my pronunciation of your name. I was thinking Brrr as in cold instead of bear and neek like geek. glad to know how to say it now.
