What's in a name? | Pad Patter 11.14

[email protected] was my 1st email address ever, back in 1996. So, I use it for a lot of stuff. My given last name is Barnes. So you, know I like the letters J & B. Hence, why my kids are named Broderick & Jamison. My husband is Bernard, so together we're J & B.

I do wish I'd made my username Jess or JustJess or something. Those who know me, call me Jess. So, it's very strange to me to be called Jessica. Jessica is only used by my mom when I'm in trouble (yes, even at age 39).

@carilyne I think that is such a pretty and unique way of spelling Caroline. I'm glad you're owning your identity <3

Mine came about because my first car was an old Toyota Corsica and I wanted something anonymous. So I tacked the R onto the end of Corsica to have it end with "car" to make it clever and unique. Or something like that haha! Now I'm more likely to use 88keyarray if it's something associated with life off the Internet (trying to be clever about the piano having 88 keys and incorporating my initials RA into it).

I am boring, first name nickname with last name initial. Only occasionally have a joined another group where there was already a BevG.

I've been using michelepixels for so many years I've forgotten my thought process in choosing it. It might have been when I was considering going into business scrapping for hire. Or it might have just been something I thought of and liked. It has to do with my love of playing with pixels. I do remember being surprised the first time I tried using it that it wasn't already taken. It seemed too obvious to still be available. But it does seem to be all mine. If you google it, everything you see on the first page at least, is me. I've used it for all the digiscrap forums I've joined since I stopped being exclusive to the one where I started (Scrapgirls, where I called myself Reminiscing).

It's my Flickr and Instagram username too. At my photography forum, on the other hand, I use my real, full name MicheleKendzie. I was seriously considering opening a photography business and I wanted to be myself there.

Mine is from a number of years ago, the 1990's, :giggle - before I was married. I have a super long name with middle names and past family names, a family tradition, I was trying to be simple. jk were my initials, and 703 is my birthday. I've used it so many places, and occasionally it will become jkm703.

I've also been known as The Typative Scrapper.

I wondered if your birthday was July 3rd... totally makes sense.

I am boring too, have been Stefanie or StefanieS. When those have already been nabbed I go with Eyeore, which was how I remembered Winnie The Pooh's Donkey friend's name being spelled back in the day. Now it seems to be Eeyore so mine looks like an eye and ears (Afikaans "ore" is ears) which is a tad weird, but it made total sense at the time.

I love eyeore in the winnie the pooh movies and that's cool that eyeore means eye and ears in Afikaans... learn something new everyday.

Mine is boring LOL. I live in BC Canada, hence the bc...add in that I am a girl....hence the gal and 25 yrs ago or whenever I first started getting on the internet....hence adding in a few zeros b/c some forums already had a bcgal. So bcgal00 has been my name online forever. Only once have I had to add another zero somewhere online b/c bcgal00 was already taken.

I wondered what the bc meant since your name is Rae. So cool to learn that you live in Canada. I've always wanted to visit BC but never have.... maybe someday.

amien1 = Amie, My maiden name was Nicholson & because I needed a number for some sort of log on thingy- I added the 1.

Like previous posters- It was more of a log on thing (and my email is amien1@....) and I never realized it would become my 'name' :) I've had the same email & name for years & years & years and didn't see any reason to change it now!

I have to admit that every time I see your username I think "AMEN" and then think no it's "Amie N 1". lol

well
I am Anne with the E please ♥
but
I am NOT in Texas! bhahah..I actually forgot about the Alamo when making this name.
the Alamo is for my town Alamogordo...
anne of alamogordo is way to long
and since Gordo is FAT in spanish I didn't want to be Fat Anne or Anne from FaT hhaha
Anne Of Alamo
I actually have this as my siggy on the phone, and being Anne is rather common, I get called this all the time. Especially at our church conference.
And funny is many will call my hubby Mr. Ofalamo! bhahah
one of my best friends in real life as in we lived next door to each other and go to the same church, used to be more active is AlaMama she designed as Pressed Petals long ago...I thought hers was so clever. lol

So glad you explained that. I thought you used to live in Texas near the Alamo... hehe

My husband was in law enforcement, and his radio call number was 2A50 (when spoken, Two Adam Five Oh) so, I'm Mrs Two Adam Five Oh.

I was kinda thinking along the lines like @RebeccaH that your husband was 50... lol Two Adam Five Oh is cool too and I'll have to try to remember the adam part now when I see your username in the forum.

So you want me to reveal my deep dark secret? Carilyne is not my real name on my birth certificate but I will be legally changing it.
Midway in my recovery from childhood trauma I realized how separated parts of me had become and some even locked away. I was playing with my real name Carrie Lynn which my entire maternal side of the family called me. I took out the double letters and tucked the e at the end. To me it symbolizes my reaching wholeness again and being who I was created to be (I was named after my aunt Caroline and always felt gipped that mom split it). And I would prefer it be pronounced as Caroline only with "short i" sound. But I just like being called it no matter how you pronounce it.

I'm glad that you are finding yourself and love that you told us how to pronounce your name.

Jess. I always want to say Jess kabob hehe or Jess cab when I see your username. How do you pronounce it? I guess I should go edit the first post and ask people to tell us how they pronounce their usernames too.

Cool name... if my username was after my first car. It'd be grandamcar - I bought a red pontiac grand am when I graduated from high school and had it for 10 years... oh boy! When I look at grandamcar, I think grandma car.... or gran dam car... lol

I figured the pixel part had something to do with your love of digital scrapbooking.... so cool that you're thinking of a photography business. I wish I was a better photography, but never seem to find the time to take a class. You can only do so much with photoshop, but I do what I can and call it good. If I want really good pix, I hire a photographer.

mine is the name of my doggie, Sokee, I really should create a siggie so people that don't know me know that my real name is Barbara

You should do a siggie... I need to do a new siggie too, halloween is long gone. I've always wondered if Sokee was your name and how you pronounce it. I say sew-key in my head, but don't know if that's right.

Sokee's actual name is Sokeri which is the Finnish word for Sugar. When she was 3 weeks old I meet her for the first time and thought she looked like brown sugar and white sugar so I called up my Uncle who still speaks Finnish and asked him what the Finnish word was for sugar. We decided to name her that and nicked named her Sokee we pronounce it Sue-key

Mine is Scraps and Sass... not scraps and @55. LOL. People often read it that way. I think I chose it because I was starting a blog for writing, but I also scrapped. Not to mention that I am totally sassy. So that part fit doubly.

The email I've had since the beginning of email is ethnicity_kt because in college I was planning to start a community center named Ethni-city for all ages where it would be part senior center and part daycare, part creative classes and more. Somewhere seniors could play with little kids, and people of all races would interact, and everyone would be welcome and learn from each other. I used to use that for everything, but since I'd given up hope of starting that, I went with scrapsandsass.
