MOC '17 training HERE! bhwhahaha

Agreed and I haven't looked at it myself and don't plan to. But I am going to prepare for a couple.

For everyone planning on taking more photos to be ready for the MOC - do you have specific photos you take?

I don't take specific photos for MOC. I just keep to taking the photos that I normally do. I will say, there was a challenge last year with a specific viewpoint, and I struggled with it during MOC. But I find myself using that viewpoint often in the last few months. I use Lightroom, so my focus to have my photos ready is just making sure that some of my favorites are starred and easy to find. If I get the time, I may give them basic editing, but probably not.
I just checked, and I have about 200 photos starred waiting to be scrapped!
Maybe I should just focus on scrapping....

I'm not sure I'm scrapping enough to do MOC especially since most of my layouts are pocket ones

I can't wait. It will be the fourth MOC for me. I tend to wing it a bit, but I do have a folder marked MOC Photos that I put pictures in from now till January. But I will also take some as I go :)

I will be present for MOC, but I don't have a competitive bone in my body. I'll just come out to learn, and chill and relax with all of you...

wow you all are scaring me!!! this will be my first MOC! yikes! What kinds of photos am I going to need because I NEVER take photos!!!

It's like the monthly challenges only every day in January. So you can have anything but you need at least 30 probably more. Some like just marking their favorites so they are a quick go to. I like scrapping a holiday or I had a group of photos taken for graduation that I used last year.
It is really fun and stretches you. There are usually no specifics in photos. Maybe the holidays coming up or winter if you are in an area with winter. Don't stress, just do what you can do. It's fun.

Does the training include chocolate?

No but you should definitely stock up on the after Christmas candy sales so you have enough chocolate to get through MOC! Training I guess the chocolate is optional but recommended. Love it!!!

Well I am okay on that score then (munching on a fruit and nut choccy bar as I type!).

I know I should get organised. I think my priority will be to get any retired kits moved into my designer archive folders, but that is such HARD work! I may just wing it and try to remember to check the store before I start using a kit for any of the challenges.

I can't prepare for it photo wise. I have so many photos, that if I can't find something in my stash then there's something totally wrong! The only challenges that I have a difficult time with are the ones using single photos. I never, ever put a single photo page in my albums, so those are put in the "do not print" folder. Or I make them in a way that I can easily put additional photos onto it after the challenge page is uploaded in the gallery.

I'm currently trying to complete 2 albums so I can print them before the end of the month, so I'll do some of the challenges only if they fit into what I'm doing. I'm going to be a scrapping machine! ha! I'm almost done with a 92-page trip album that I started 3 weeks ago. Woot!

As in real life, I'm never organized, although I do have all of TLP designers in one location. But I am looking forward to the challenge. My brother will be visiting us over the New Year, and he takes over my "studio", so I'll be behind before I even start. Looking forward to it. We took photos when we visited Poland this Fall, so I've got a few of them in my stash as potentials. :-)

training!? whoo hoo. I'll train by trying to organize my photos AND organizing my books that are partially done so I know what pages I need to focus on if I can.

I am really looking forward to the challenges again!!

reading responses reminds me to take inventory of my TLP kits that are current! Good suggestion, as I know I have a few that are no longer sold here from some designers :)

And MOC requires that only TLP fonts be used, correct?

I have some fun handwritten ones from TLP, but sometimes I like a more formal or typed one. Any recommendations for a TLP font like that?

well...unless it is a specified challenge for font work, I think you are okay to use any fonts, although there are some cool ones in the store!!
lol
@BevG
these fonts in this bundle are unbelievable.
I was thinking of orange marmalade (you can see it on the bottom right) and a few others that you may like too.
I worked with Tangie when she was making these, and the are a labor of love!
