One of my favorite techniques! I have way too much fun layering! 27 layers of paint. Yosemite National Park the day after a snow storm
Thank you for the challenge! I am still trying to wrap my head around the blend modes and how they actually work - a bit like magic. I used 13 photo layers and multiple blend modes.
Interesting... more layers than I normally use, but I know all about playing with blend modes... etc... My life has gone into hyper drive with the news that Costco is closing their lab and merging with Shutterfly... If I wanted to use Shutterfly I would and they have nothing like the photo books on Costco's site, so I am trying to finish off at least 2 years, before the cut off date... and I already use Shutterfly for some projects... If this works for one o fmy unfinsihed pages, that I need to get done , it will appear soon... if not, it will be very late.... off to finish Day 5 which does fill both .
I blend papers often but I don't use blending with my photos enough. This was fun! Thanks for the challenge, Jenn! Original:
Using Artisan 5 software chose three different paints and filled it with the photo three different times and then lined them up
Took me a second attempt to find a better photo -- definitely photo selection and base make a big difference.
Whew! This took some thought and a lot of manipulation. I had to keep changing order, adding and deleting masks, finding the best background paper and blending to get the look I wanted. Thanks for the challenge.
Here is my page. I took a bunch of photos at a recent showing of Moulin Rouge. I converted the brushes included in the kit (within my credits) as a layer mask. It's probably difficult to see my technique with the dark background, but there are several layers there. Thanks for the great challenge!!
This was really fun!!! I think I used 8 layers to get this effect. Photo is from my daughter's wedding day. There just happened to be these really great painted walls up around some construction outside the hotel that the photographer used to create a bunch of cool photos. This worked really well for the challenge.
Thanks for the challenge - I never would have tried this otherwise! I used 9 different layers of paint and differing blend styles/opacity.
