January 26 – Tradition/Heritage (Journaling)

Here is mine thank you for the push to scrap an old photo. It is my Nana and Grandad's 50th Wedding Anniversary coming up next month, so it was nice to be able to take some "time off" the albums I'm currently scrapping to scrap this page for them:

Mine really doesn't seem too old, but the school was!

I love your details about the schoolhouse and that it is still in use! When I was about 10, we went back to the area where I was born because my aunt & uncle lived near there. By then, the hospital had been turned into a community centre. Yes, it was that small. Mom said she had found out later than there was a nurse in the cabin next to ours, so she wished she'd just had me at the cabin, as the hospital was so unprepared (no maternity pads even).

Thanks for this challenge, it finally motivated me to scrap this page!
Journaling word count is 165; with the transcribed newspaper article, count is 339.

I wrote about my last trip to England for my granny's funeral in June of 1993.

Great challenge - I definitely want to get more of my childhood memories scrapped! Let me know if the date isn't prominent enough.

For some reason, this layout is uploading wonky in this thread. I've deleted the original post and redone it (plus uploaded the original again in the gallery as well), and I still can't get it to post correctly in the thread. It looks fine in the gallery. Oh well...thanks for the great challenge regardless, Carol!
