January 23: Stitched Down Stuff

I am a little confused by the finished pages... I read this last night and looked it all over and then went to bed to think about it... So have just wandered through 3 pages worth of pages... I am seeing many items that should be 3 dimensional as being stitched down butterflies , flowers and ribbons to name a few... thought the instructions were pretty clear , that if you would not be sewing down with a machine they needed to be placed as extras on top of the stitching... since I was called on a different challenge on basically a technicality of interpretation and had to make changes, I just wanted to make sure here... I did realize that if the element was actually a sticker, such as the one of a camera, then of course it could be stitched down, but if a 3D element , then it would have to go over the stitching. I am going for a walk and will be back to starting this later today. I am assuming that the ones where things like a sprig of leaves has one leaf stitched down , and the others flowing over is allowed... Nice look!

Well... the big thick elements being stitched down is more that it's one of my recommendation. It is not one of the "rules" or "requirements" so while I will cringe if you use a chunk of metal or a rock under stitching, it's not breaking the rules. :giggle I wanted to allow as much freedom as possible for this one. :agree Does that help?

I enjoyed playing with this today. Lots of paper bits stacked on top of each other -- any scattered element is only counted once. A bit of a happier layout for today. Love this little guy.

This was super fun. I just am continually amazed at the cool ideas you guys come up with. Thanks for the challenge!

As usual, I made this harder than it needed to be by making the lines converge. I really like how it turned out, but parallel lines would have been so much quicker and easier. LOL!

To help the ones who have to count:
1. red zig zag stitch – ticket cluster (L of photo), paper heart, purple ticket, light paper, bus ticket
2. black messy stitch – red ticket (L of photo), cluster w/cardboard on top, paper star, burlap heart, stamp
3. green wavy stitch – cardboard heart, torn ticket, yellow star, long ticket w purple print, red ticket with punched hole
4. multi strand cream stitches – price tag, purple ticket, stamp w/hearts, orange ticket, milk bottle top
5. purple double stitch lines – envelope, ticket w/ ribbon, ticket stack, red ticket, row of hearts
