January 23 - Interview About The Past

Thanks so much for the wonderful challenge my husband and I had lots of fun reminiscing about our trip. I was nice to talk about something other than the pandemic and politics, at a time when all we had to worry about was where we were going next. I actually could have write pages about this one, we did so much and so much happened. Unfortunately I don't have the hard drive with me with my pictures on it so I borrowed from pixabay. Over 400 words.

This was fun! Been needing to capture some of these memories from our family's first trip (and only so far) to Disneyland. Thanks for the memories!

Love my Bestie who helped me get out of my head on this challenge. I was complaining about not being able to come up with a topic and she started asking questions about high school. Then I'd ask a question and back and forth we'd go. An hour later... she said, "by the way, I recorded this phone call-- You should have enough content now to do a wonderful page about me! But no, high school pictures of me posted!" So when I have a chance to scan some pictures, I will make it into a double layout with pictures on the other side. 350+ words

Interview of my daughter about getting our dog over 9 years ago plus some more recent memories too. 490 words total (325 on when we first got her)

Here's my take. I messed up the first attempt and didn't realize it had to be answered by the interviewer as well. Oh well! I made an extra layout about my mom as a young adult just because. :giggle

I spent some time talking with my mom about this particular ornament. It had become sort of family legend, and she and I remember parts of the story differently. It was good to catch up on it. I framed this as an interview with the angel, not my mom, both to respect her wishes and to let me better blend my own thoughts into the answers, as per the instructions. This is my least favorite page so far- mostly because the interview part looks awful- but I enjoyed the actual chatting and writing very much.

THe Arrival of Galipette
"Do you remember how we came up with the idea of adopting a kitten?"
ENORA: Yes, the neighbor's cat came to our house and we stayed in the garden to play with him, which made us want to have one!

ME: Yes, that's exactly it! I saw that I wasn't too scared of it and that it would be nice to adopt one for you. We went to check that this cat belonged to the neighbor and we discussed "stewardship" .... and a few hours later we were looking for one on Le Bon Coin. We first found a white one but it had already been adopted. Then we came across this picture outside in a garden of this little kitten with beautiful colors. We sent a message (or phoned I don't know anymore): the feeling went really well! In fact it was a lady who was giving kittens for adoption from a nearby farm (that was where the owner was getting rid of them). We made an appointment for the next day on a Sunday.

What do you remember about the day we brought him home?"

ENORA: It was very small (or small at the time...) and didn't take up much space in its case, which made us all crack. He stayed for hours under the couch when we came home.

ME: yes indeed this little cat (we discovered 1 month later that it was in fact a male!) was adorable! as we didn't have a transport box, we put it in a box for the road. He had been meowing all the way .... and had spent his day under the couch only coming out for a few seconds. There was a little "accident" in the house and in the garage at night...but that's it! he got bold and quickly walked around the house!

@bcgal00
Rae, is it ok if I make this a 2 pager? My little one got off topic, but I should include that for prosperity. lol

I love to include other voices on my pages, and then I remember how uncooperative my family is! I'm glad I was able to document this, thank you!
