January 15: Painted Edges

I checked and the legacy composite is checked with the update so everyone should be fixed BUT DOUBLE CHECK just in case :) . Thank you again for letting me know of the update. I usually check but haven't in the last week or two.

Hey ladies....just wanted to say.....it warms my heart to see all these beautiful pages and you all are having so much fun with my challenge! Secondly....it's awesome that everyone is helping each other out when needed. I keep popping in when I can but can't of course be around all the time so really do appreciate the help of the other CTs and members to answer questions and troubleshoot for each other. #loveTLPpeople

I painted the corners of my background paper, and I added some white paint to the large flowers.

i am not that good with brushes. i use cc photoshop. any brushes you suggest to use? i love alot of the layouts but they dont mention what brush they used. thanks
@bjc I just wanted to touch on the subject of the brushes, as you asked.

Any brush will do, a soft edged round brush (this is usually the default kind of brush most often used) but a hard edged brush works too, it just creates a different look. A textured brush, a watercolor brush, stroke brushes....try different brushes and see what kind of effect you get. Try stamping down onto the page (a single tap of the brush onto the page) and then try swiping it across or back and forth to see what that does. Also, I find that most times I reduce the opacity to help build up the color and create more texture with the uneven stamping. Try changing the size of the brush and if your program allows customization, try changing the angle, jitter, etc to see what that does.

You are so welcome.. I know they did an update yesterday too, but just make sure that is done re legacy compositing being checked and you should be fine :)

With the latest update it is no longer necessary to check legacy compositing! The shadow problem is solved.

Does anyone know why I have to load a set of brushes everytime I want to use that set in my PSE 18 program?

@Carol K. yes, you can keep brushes in the Preset manager but for the life of me over (10 years!) I have never understood how to get a favorite set in there properly. If only brushes were as easy to install and keep as actions and styles! Wiser or more skilled people may be able to help you but I've never found instructions that made sense to me.

I've never tried this before and used the brush in the tree shape and behind in the wood, this will be something I will need to practice a lot more.
