Hi Lilypadders! Do you love to scrap? Do you only have boys? Do you feel frustrated when it comes to finding good masculine kits through the myriad of beautiful feminine kits out there? I know I do. It’s kind of like clothes shopping. There are 25 racks of girls clothing to 1 ugly rack of boy stuff somewhere at the back of the store. I do have to say that the Lilypad is pretty good at representing the boys though.
Today I am going to highlight some of my favorite boy kits by theme here at the Lilypad. Let me warn you that this is a LONG post. Grab your coffee and plan to stay awhile. Ready? Here we go.
Blocks
Oh my gosh. I do believe I have every type of block known to boys in my playroom. They are scattered all over everywhere. Trying to walk in my house without stepping on a block is a major undertaking. I love this kit by Jacque and Gina.
Boo Boos
My oldest son had to have staples in his scalp soon after he turned 3. He thought it would be a good idea to jump from the coffee table onto a cushion on a hard wood floor. Needless to say he hit the cushion, the cushion slipped and he fell backward cracking his head open on the table. On Mother’s Day this year, my youngest, also 3, was running full speed into the garage at the exact moment my oldest opened the car door. Smack. Three stitches for him in his forehead. Moms of boys. We can’t have enough of these bumps and bruises type kits. Load up!
Bugs
If you have boys, you know you need a kit with bugs. Enough said. This kit is awesome – a collab between Karah, Kaye, and Kate – you cannot go wrong here.
Dinosaurs
We have a couple dinosaur books. They aren’t even good books but the mere fact that they have pictures of dinosaurs ensures they get read many times. If you’ve got boys, chances are they love dinosaurs. Here are a few cute kits with dinosaurs.
Fonts
Need some great children’s font? Heather has some cute ones. These are all sold separately too.
Games
My boys love games of all sort. They LOVE Hide and Seek, Go Go Go Stop, Uno and other similar card games, and all sorts of board games. I think we have kits to cover all these fun childhood games.
Grunge
My boys are still little and cute but I can see once they get older I’ll be looking for some grunge to make my layouts a bit more manly. Here are some great grungy kits and element packs.
Outer Space
I know I quite often feel like I’m in outer space. What a great kit here to scrap that feeling.
Robots
My guys love robots. Every block tower that has arms and legs is a “robot”. The following two kits are so cute. I love how the Robot Love kit has word art that says ‘do you like me – yes or no”. My oldest son, who is in grade one, is constantly bringing home little notes like that from his classmates.
Rock
Loud and boys go hand in hand. Right now, it’s mostly Choo Choo Soul and Laurie Berkner that is full blast in our house but I know this will change in time. If you have a rocker in the house, these kits are for you.
Scouts
My boys aren’t into Scouts yet but I’m sure they will be one day. This is such a cute kit to scrap your little Cubs.
Skateboards and Bikes
What kid doesn’t love skateboards and bikes? Need I say more?
Sports
Baseball, Soccer, Karate, Swimming, Golf – my boys love sports. I’m always on the look out for a great sports related kit. The Lilypad has these great ones.
Stinker
Ok I couldn’t resist. This is the perfect kit for my boys. Isn’t it cute?
Superheroes
Our hooded towels turn my boys into Super Brady and Super Dylan. These kits are so cute to scrap your little Superhero.
Things that Go
We must have one hundred little matchstick cars. We have big firetrucks, police cars, taxis, buses, dump trucks, tow trucks, monster trucks and garbage trucks. If it has wheels, we have it. Check out these fun kits for all things that go.
Tools
I give my little Handy Mannys old cardboard boxes to completely destroy with their little saws, screwdrivers, and hammers. The hare in seventh heaven every time a new cardboard box comes their way. Here’s the perfect kit for your little builder (or big builder).
Is this like the longest post EVER? I was only going to highlight 10 kits but I just couldn’t decide so I went a bit overboard. If you have boys or girls who play like boys, bookmark this blog post and then you’ll have an easy time shopping for the perfect kit in the future.
If these kits aren’t in your budget, keep in mind we have Wibbet Wednesday every week where select items are marked down 50%. Be sure to put the kits you love on your wishlist and watch for it on Wibbet Wednesday.
Before I go, I just have to sneak in 4 more kits that are more of a general nature but oh so cute!
Thank you for making it to the end of the post everyone. Happy scrapping!
