I’m naturally lazy. Perhaps, I am the only one. Add that propensity for giving up and the seemingly extra events in December,
and it makes me want to not even start doing any kind of memory keeping for December. Then I see my kids pull out my books from years past. They love to read the journaling from the first year I did one. I filled it with stories, information and so much writing. It took a whole lot of planning, and dedication EVERYday. I completed it on January 2nd, right after that Christmas.
Then I discovered templates and used Lynne Marie’s cool DYY Template Builders :
Less journaling, I actually just did REAL big fonts. Lot of photos, big and fun. It was done pretty fast. Not as much planning, but I admit to finishing it around July after that Christmas. The following year, I went simple. A little black book of B&W photos and kept it simple of 20 some pages of fun. I didn’t even start this one until the summer after Christmas.
This year is different, and I thank Just Jaimee for her Ready-To-Go 12×12 Pocket Page Templates she does all year. I am only using week 49-53(the month of December). That being said, I think I could do this all year because they are that easy…oh Project Life, hear I come (maybe).
These are so easy, it is a quick page that you can move things around, change the shadows, add more, take off or leave exactly how it is and PLOP your photos in and write a bit. I actually pre-wrote things I knew were going to happen that week. See the red circles? On the times I was free I would upload photos and write if I could and just get them on the page! I love it. I had very few changes. The best part is I am done with the first week! Done, saved and in a folder just waiting for the next week to start!
I just want to encourage you, that you don’t have to start on December 1st, you can start today, there are so many ways to capture the memories of a month that is so full of events, that you can make a book all by itself. I will be back next week to encourage you to do this, and show you how my month is progressing!
