Card making – Birthday

Hello everyone ! It’s Guest Polly Gaelle here and today I’m here to share with you my process to create a card. In this example, I will show you how I create a card for my son’s birthday. But I like creating card just to say “hello” or to tell someone to have a nice day.

So the first thing, I made is to choose the principal collection I will use. As my son loves the red color, I’ve chosen to use the Mixed Media Collection from August 2020 Music Speaks and its add-ons.

Then I create a new folder and inside I will copy all the elements and papers that I really love and want to use in my project. Sometimes, I have lots of elements, sometimes only few. It depends the feeling I want to give on my card. But here, I want something huge and messy. So I selected lots of elements (for me 😉 ).

After, I open my favorite program and put on the background all the papers and elements I’ve copied before. Yes, yes, all the papers and elements. So far, I have many layers. But no worries. I hide them all for a first time.

Then, I build my card with only these papers and elements and place them where I want. I play with the blending modes too. I have fun.

Now, everything is has a good place, it’s time to add few details like gesso, stamps or stitches. And my card is ready.

After, if you want to can print the card or send it by mail 😉

I hope you enjoyed reading my process, and I hope to come back here so share you an other card.
