Bits and Pieces: Sā€™more to the Story

Summer Camp officially wraps up today šŸŽ‰ā€”but donā€™t worry, thereā€™s stillĀ sā€™moreĀ to do. You have untilĀ September 3rd to get your layouts and games submitted, and then weā€™ll be busy behind the scenes tallying points and prepping prizes. (Translation: spreadsheets, caffeine, and probably a few toasted marshmallows.)

If youā€™re looking for the latest tech update: progress is still moving right along, even if you donā€™t always see it. Weā€™ve had a few quirky gremlins lurking in the forum, and the best way to send them packing is with an upgrade. That upgrade is coming soon! On a bittersweet note, today is also the final day ofĀ Karen Chrismanā€™s retiring sale. Everything is 40% off. While weā€™re sad to say goodbye, itā€™s the perfect chance to show support and celebrate her designs one last time.

So hereā€™s to August: a month of campfires, creative farewells, and fixes. September is waiting with fresh adventuresā€”but for now, donā€™t forget to grab your sā€™mores.

Iā€™m a creative who pulls inspiration from all corners of lifeā€”both the joyful highs and the real-life moments that punch you in the gut. Honestly, I donā€™t think I can pin down a single scrapbooking style for myself, so letā€™s just go with eclectic. My layouts really depend on my mindset. If Iā€™m in a deep, cerebral mood, youā€™ll likely see something chaotic and messy. If Iā€™m more relaxed, it tends to come out clean, simple, and structured.

My brain is usually running on several channels at once, so itā€™s completely normal for me to be working on a digital layout, dabbling in a hybrid project, and getting messy with art journaling or mixed mediaā€”all at the same time.

Here are a few of my go-to tools: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CC + my MacBook; Photos: Canon Rebel or iPhone; Hybrid: Cricut Joy + sewing machine; Art Journaling: watercolors, stencils, and artsticks

And when it comes to embellishmentsā€”digital or physicalā€”Iā€™m always reaching for messy threads, ribbons, and Polaroids. Always the Polaroids.

  2. Thanks Esther for your updates and YAY to all the Summer Camp finishers! I had a wonderful time at camp and seeing all the fantastic pages in the gallery has made me smile! Regarding the gremlins, glad they are packing and Thank You for this upgrade.. I think new things to spruce up our “home” is so fun and rewarding. Thank you for this! Looking forward to seeing all the new paint in our home!
