Hi all! Polly Jewelle here with another edition of Behind the Design. With a little bit of pleading and maybe a few bribes we got the designers here at The LilyPad to agree to show off their design spaces at home. They also agreed to answer a few questions about their design space that will allow us to get to know them better. This month we are going behind the designs of
Valéria Piemonte
Mac or PC?
A 21” iMac that I love!
Coffee or tea (or both/neither)?
Coffee!!!! I can’t live without at least one cup of coffee everyday.
Guilty pleasure snack while creating/scrapping?
Chocolate. All the way :)
Favorite music to listen to?
I don’t know how to work without music. I listen to so many songs while working. I guess I don’t have a favorite but if I was to pick just one I’d say Counting Stars by One Republic.
Your view from your scrap space?
I work on a desk in my home office which is just beside my kids bedroom and right in front of the drawing room where they play :) So I think have a pretty good view of what the kids are up to while I’m working :) :)
What software do you use to create with?
Illustrator & Photoshop CS6.
Favorite photo editing tools?
I use the Photoshop actions from My Four Hens Photography. I love them!
Favorite time to create (morning or evening)?
Neither, lol! I like to create in the afternoon when the kids are at school and I have my home all to myself!
Favorite thing about your workspace?
My iMac!! Because to tell you the truth I don’t like my workspace right now. It really needs a change!
Least favorite thing about your workspace?
Like I said in the previous question I don’t like my workspace right now. It seems like all junk in the house goes there. It doesn’t feel like a proper home office to me, but I am working on making things better. I’m planning a revamp at the end of this year.
What would you dream workspace look like and where would it be?
I’d love to have lots of shelves and cupboards and things hanging on the wall. Also a cozy little space in the corner with an armchair where I could read my books. Oh and a big desk with a better light so I can draw and paint properly. Currently I do that in the kitchen with kids, dogs and all the noise. I’m sure you can imagine!
I know that Valeria said she wants to redo her space but I still think it is so pretty! I love the little pictures she has next to her computer to brighten the space up! Also, what better place to have your work area than right by where the kids play?! How about you? What did you enjoy learning about Valeria and her design space? Be sure and let us know in the comments!

I like that she creates while her kids are at school. It gives me hope that I will have time to be creative when my kids are in school :)
