December Challenges

Hello everyone!  It’s Polly Karen back again with a look at our new batch of monthly challenges for December.  Each month we have 8 brand new challenges that are posted in the forum Challenge Pad on the 1st day of the month. (the BYOC Challenge is posted on the 1st Friday of the month.)  You can use the challenges simply to inspire you to keep creating new layouts OR you can also earn yourself a fabulous coupon for your next shopping trip in the Lilypad Store.  (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%).  Those who complete at least 7 challenges will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate!  Isn’t that an awesome prize?!?!  You’ll get lots of great memories captured in your scrapbooks AND you could win a fat gift certificate prize!!!  Pretty great, right?!  So let’s take a look at this month’s new batch of challenges!

1.  Random Challenge – The first challenge for December is the Random Challenge hosted by Ashely (ashleywb).  Ashley would like you to do a little holiday baking by creating a layout using her fun recipe card.  Here’s a peek at her recipe card and the layout she created using her recipe:

2.  Photography Challenge – The Photography Challenge is the next challenge up for December and is being hosted by Natasha (bcnatty).  Nathasha is challenging you to showcase a photo of “being together”.  Here’s a great sample layout she created:

3.  Inspiration Challenge – The Inspiration Challenge for this month is hosted by Kayla (keepscrappin) and she has collected several photos of wreaths to use for your inspiration this month.   Here’s a look at the wreath photos followed by Kayla’s wreath layout:

4.  Journaling Challenge – Heather (HeatherB) is hosting the Journaling Challenge for this month and she would like you to create a layout with journaling about a past holiday that you celebrated in a unique way.  Because this is a journaling challenge, Heather would like to see at least 5 sentences of journaling.  Here’s her sample layout:

5.  Template Challenge – Next up is the Template Challenge hosted by Jenn (jk703).  The challenge is to use the free template supplied by Gina Miller and create a layout using it.  Here’s a look at the free template followed by a sample that Jenn created using it:

6.  Style Challenge – The Style Challenge for December is hosted by Christa (cfile).  Christa would like to encourage you to create a layout that is Clean and Simple in style.   AND because it’s the 12th month of the year, she would like your layout to use exactly 12 total papers and elements (not including your photo).  Here’s Christa’s great sample layout:

7.  Scraplift Challenge – The next challenge for this month is the Scraplift Challenge hosted by Courtney (bestcee).  Courtney is giving you three paper layouts for inspiration and to scraplift.  Simply pick one of the three layouts and then create your own scraplifted version.   Here is a look at the three layouts  followed by Courtney’s scraplifted version:

8.  BYOC Challenge – Finally we have the BYOC Challenge.  This challenge will be hosted and posted by Lori (lcpereyra) tomorrow, December 2nd.  This month is going to have a fun little twist to the BYOC Challenge too, so be sure to check that out tomorrow!

There is your peek at this month’s brand new batch of challenges.  Once you create your own layouts inspired by these challenges, be sure to post them to the appropriate galleries as listed above.  Then be sure to also post them to the appropriate thread in the challenge forum.  See the thread HERE for further challenge guidelines and see the December Challenge Pad HERE to get started!  Don’t forget to post all of your completed layouts in the Challenge Layouts thread so we can be sure to get you the proper coupon at the end of the month.  I’ll be back near the end of the month to shine my spotlight on some of the pages created for these challenges!  I can’t wait to see what you come up with!  Happy scrapping!
