A breezy, but with a chance of lots of sun greetings to you all! The season is is a changing, but kinda not sure what season it wants to be! Sometimes that is how our scrapping can be also. The sun can be shinning through the window, a warmth spreading across your arms, but the emotions within us is dark and troubling.
There are days when the clouds and storms of life are so heavy on my shoulders, I feel like I am collapsing. I refuse to collapse, I instead will pour out my emotions onto a page. Many people see art journaling as dark and brooding. I have in the past tried to change that mindset, but sometimes, that darkness in creating can be a way to crawl out of the blackness.
I went thru the gallery of Art Journaling here at the Lily Pad, and the art that flows is like the sunbeams through the window to my creative spirit. This alone is a great way to remind myself there are others trying to press out of the weariness of life.
Blueberries shows in her page Torn – Outside. Her page shows that there is strength even in those times being pulled apart in life. The bits of spring and bird in flight give so much hope to her page!
The credits show that Angela Toucan is working through a tough emotional day and did so with this page! I can lose myself in her shadows, but again, look to the bright stars shining through the gray! I am cheering the expressive joy that is around the edges. She has fashioned the pain of the day, the deep shadows and the trees seem to want to pull her in, but looking towards the edge, see the color? She adds that hope! Valley of Shadows is a brilliant example of working through the gut reactions of life.
Working the disturbance of life and the highs and lows does not have to be gloomy or somber, and Dalis kicks the box of art journaling being so dark. See in Celebrate the Damn Lemons!
The seasons are changing and our emotions go up and down, we have highs and lows. So check the temperature outside and then investigate your emotional condition, and like a barometer,, give it a good tap and create!
