We all scream………..

,,,,,,FOR ICE CREAM!!

Well it’s NATIONAL ICE CREAM MONTH and that makes us all scream! What a perfect treat to cool off from the heat with your favorite flavor – or heck, try a weird one!

Did you know that President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream month with the 3rd Sunday of the month being National Ice Cream Day? I always did like that guy. The first known existence of ice cream in the US was dated back to 1744 in a letter by Governor William Bladen. It also seemed that earlier presidents took a liking to ice cream as well. In the summer of 1790, George Washington spent about $200 for ice cream (that was a ton of money back then!). Thomas Jefferson actually made his own recipe of ice cream as well and Dolly Madison, wife of President James Madison, served ice cream at the second inaugural ball. It was during this time that ice cream was just a special treat for the wealthy but in 1843, Nancy Johnson patented the hand crank ice cream maker. Several years later came the first ice cream factory and mechanical refrigeration helped keep large amounts of ice cream cool. Shout out to technology!

At TLP, we have some products that will go great with your ice cream pictures! So scoop on!
