Hi all, Sarah here. One thing I love is paint, or I should say, I love the look of paint on my hybrid projects, but I don’t always love the mess that goes along with it. I’m so happy to share with you all today a few projects I’ve created over the past year or so using digital paint on my printed projects.
First up is an art journaling pocket scrapping page. I had so much fun mixing all the wonderful painted papers and elements together to create this fun, bright page.
Next is a pocket scrapping page I did documenting my daughter’s 13th birthday. There really isn’t a huge amount of paint on the page, only in the alpha on the first card and then where I mimicked the colors with the paint on the last card. I just love how this little bit of paint helps give such an artsy look to this layout.
Another thing that I adore about putting digital paints on printed pages is that I’m able to add all sorts of techniques without having the actual materials. I love the stenciled paints that I was able to use here, as well as the amazing doodled artwork from the kit.
Another benefit to using digital paint is that you don’t have to worry about a messy water colored look like this causing your paper to buckle. If I had done this with actual watercolors on a non watercolor paper it would have warped instead of lying flat.
I love the texture on this page so much. I was able to take some heavily textured digital paints and blend them into the paper to create this fun look.
For this last page I just wanted to show you how a little paint can go a long way. I just love how the watercolors and spattered paint work so well on this pocket scrapping art journaling page.
The next time you create a hybrid page why not add a little digital paint before printing? If you do create something make sure to upload it to the Hybrid Projects gallery. I’d love to see what you create!
