Using a Monthly Planner Page to Track Scrapping Goals

Hello, Polly Farrah here to give you a look inside my planner and how I use it to track my scrapping goals.  I am a die hard planner girl. I have tried every type of planners you can imagine. My inner environmentalist really really really wanted to love the digital planner…I tried the digital calendar and I tried a Goodnotes digital planner. I have made tons of planner pages with my digi-scrap supplies and have even tried printing my own planner pages. I have had a lot of fun experimenting with different types of planners, but the main thing that I have learned is that I truly NEED a physical paper planner. If I don’t physically write something down, then I am never going to recall any of it. I have a really boring life and rarely do anything…especially over the past year or so. Also, I really really love making square tick boxes and checking them off. I recently went out of town (camping), without my paper planner and was surprised at the number of texts, emails and DMs I received wanting to plan things…everything from social events to photo sessions. Did I remember any of them? NOPE…and I even double booked myself, not once, but TWICE! grrrr….So…my main point is that I NEED a planner to keep track of even my boring life.

A couple of months ago, I was hosting a TLP chat and we got to talking about planners. It occurred to me that I NEVER use my planner for scrapping, but um….why not? Seems like the best possible use, right? So, I decided that I’d give it a try. I never use the monthly spread in my planner and this has become my favorite planner pages. I have been using my monthly spread to keep track of my scrapping goals. It’s not only the perfect way to keep track of my scrapping commitments, but also a fabulous way of tracking my events and layouts during a given month.

Here is my method:
1. Monthly scrap challenges
Since these are due at the end of the month, I add a tick box for each challenge on the last day of the month.

2. Hosting events
I love to host events at TLP and some are regular and some vary throughout the month. The best way to keep track of my month is to add them to my monthly spread

3. Personal Layouts
I often lose track of photos and events that need to be scrapped, as well as, ones that I accidentally scrap more than once. By using the monthly calendar spread, I can keep track of what is currently going on, and what will need photos and scrapbook layouts. This method works great for fun events, as well as, weekly spreads for Project Life.

I hope you enjoyed a peek inside my planner and I hope you found some ideas that might work for you too!
