Hey all, Polly Jewelle here! I am excited to bring you another TLP member spotlight! I’ve come to know Danielle as I’ve seen many of her hybrid layouts pop up in the gallery. Her hybrid projects always leave me in awe of her creativity. Danielle also creates lovely digi layouts and her gallery is packed with them! Be sure to take a peek at her gallery, but first lets sit back and take some time to get to know more about Danielle.
Jewelle: What is your IRL name and your user name?
Danielle: Danielle Allison – sushimommy
Jewelle: Where do you call home?
Danielle:We live in a small town in South Georgia (about 3 hours south of Atlanta.)
J: Digital or Hybrid? Both?
D: Both!
J: How long have you been scrapping?
D: I started paper scrapbooking around 1999; when our kiddos came along (first in 2004), the offer of an undo button and being able to put away my supplies with one click was one I couldn’t resist! But I have always liked the messy part, and now my hybrid projects and pages are often my favorites!
J: What is the starting point for your pages – photos, the story, products?
D: The story! Usually ones that I think of as I scroll through my photos that I know no one but me would know by looking. “The rest of the story” is my passion!
J: How would you describe your style?
D: I am all over the place with my style, but one style I have a hard time with is anything too “straight.” When I paper scrap my photos and elements are never perfectly straight, so it feels more real to rotate things a degree or two digitally too. Things need to be just a little wonky.
J: Any must-have items or techniques on all of your pages?
D: Stitching! Real or digital – most of the time it’s there somewhere!
J: Please share a favorite tip or trick.
D: I love using blending modes to blend journaling cards into my background or for card sentiments. It works great with white background ones; set the blend mode to “darker color” and its like magic!
J: Do you listen to music while you scrap? What kind?
D: Sometimes music (I love contemporary Christian music like Francesca Battestelli & Rend Collective), but catching up on shows with Hulu in the background is usually my thing.
J: What’s your favorite snack (if any) while you scrap?
D: Sometimes jelly belly beans or chocolate, but usually only a drink since there are paper/hybrid projects scattered about.
J: What time of day do you feel most creative?
D: Any time I can catch a guilt-free chunk of time to play!
J: Any pictures of your workplace?
D: Here are some!
J: Share with us the top 3 layouts that you’ve created:
D: It’s sort of like choosing favorite children
D: Pirate Camp Project Life (rt)
D: Locks of Love
D: Awesome 2015
