Hey all, Polly Jewelle here! I am thrilled to bring you another TLP member spotlight! Lorry has been a member here at TLP for over four years! You can be sure to find Lorry in TLP forum helping out other scrappers with question they have. She is such a sweet lady and always willing to help out! Be sure to take a peek at her gallery which is bursting at the seams with all kinds of inspiration! Now lets sit back and take some time to get to know more about our sweet friend Lorry.
Jewelle: What is your IRL name and your user name?
Lorry: Lorry – lorryfach
Jewelle: Where do you call home?
Lorry: I have been living just outside of Copenhagen, Denmark since 2007. I am an American and still occasionally say “back home” to mean the Florida panhandle, where I grew up.
J: Digital or Hybrid? Both?
L: I do mostly digital, but I dabble in card-making and other hybrid crafts. I love my Silhouette!
J: How long have you been scrapping?
L: I made my first scrapbook in 1996, but found it hard to keep up with until I discovered digi in 2005.
J: What is the starting point for your pages – photos, the story, products?
L: I definitely have some of all of those! Whatever inspires me, whether it’s a photo, a sketch, a kit, a silly thing one of the kids said, etc. I start with that and build around it. I probably start with a photo the most, but it really varies.
J: How would you describe your style?
L: Moody. I want the page to express more than the photo and words would by themselves.
J: Any must-have items or techniques on all of your pages?
L: I rarely go without some kind of paint, and at least one overly-tweaked shadow.
J: Do you have a favorite tip or trick you can share with us?
L: If it takes more than one click or keystroke, and I’m ever going to do it again, I make an action. I’m all about actions! They are such time-savers. I made one to put an item’s drop shadow on a separate layer and then bring up the warp tool, and I use it on pretty much every layout over and over. I have shared it on the forum before, but if any Photoshop users missed it here you go!
J: Do you listen to music while you scrap? What kind?
L: I mostly listen to pop, alternative, and folk. I like being able to sing along, at least when no one else is around to suffer for it.
J: What time of day do you feel most creative?
L: I like to scrap in the early afternoon. In the morning, I want to be productive, and in the evening, I want to relax and enjoy my family.
J: Share with us your favorite 3 layouts that you’ve created:
L: Big Hero 6
L: Be Happy
L: Santa Lucia
Thank you Lorry for letting us learn more about you!
