Time for YOU

Christmas is a crazy time.  We as moms, sisters, wives and coworkers are in the midst of pure insanity. Gift buying, family gatherings, school parties and office get togethers.  The stress levels can really, really put you over the edge.  Now I (Polly Anne of Alamo) can not keep you from the edge, but I do want to give some fun thoughts to help you relax a bit, with only a week to go until Christmas day.

Instead of rewriting what has been so eloquently done about How to Relax over at wikiHOW.  I want to expound on step number 2. Set aside time to relax.

Time to RELAX!

This means your DYD and PL pages if they are causing stress. Set THEM aside until the New Year and scrap some pure fun pages.  If you are in the middle of a project that has to be done, but totally stressing you out. ASK for HELP!  You need time to relax.

Creating art (be it art journaling or making a scrapbook page of memories) is a fantastic way to let your brain relax and unwind.  I am a big believer when I want to scream and toss everything in garbage, then crawl into bed and hide until the holidays are over in sitting down and making a page of past memories. Open up your old photo files, or even an old photo album.  Bring the photo in, scan, copy somehow into your program.  Remember the joy of that moment when the photo was taken. Remember why we do what we do during Christmas.  The memories are being created, but you make the time to capture them today.

I sat and pulled up photos from 2004, my big teenagers so small and silly.

Now, I remember why I am wrapping the flat iron, the fingernail polishes, remote control helicopters, and tools.  They are precious to me.

So take some time out for you during this time, and remember why you do all that you do! To make memories!
