Polly Picks – LiLi

Have you ever just looked an artist page and known you would love the person just because of the energy on her page?  That is how I am with the precious LiLi.  Her zest for creating has a tangible heartbeat, and you can feel the thump throughout her gallery.  I am so excited to have her as the Polly Picks.  I know you will enjoy each and everyone of her Picks.

Here is a little bit about LiLi, by Lili:

“I have always struggled with defining my style as I don’t think I have one particular trademark like everyone else does. As I am on a creative journey to learning more about my creativity, I create all styles but hardly a pocket page. I create a page based on my mood and emotions at that moment in time. Basically I’m not fixed to a particular style but of course Art Journalling will always be my preference that’s because when I’m art journalling I am at my most vulnerable and I am most centered at that time. OK!! maybe it’s called eccentric style !! <- that’s what my fellow scrappers told me!!”

I’m a creative who pulls inspiration from all corners of life—both the joyful highs and the real-life moments that punch you in the gut. Honestly, I don’t think I can pin down a single scrapbooking style for myself, so let’s just go with eclectic. My layouts really depend on my mindset. If I’m in a deep, cerebral mood, you’ll likely see something chaotic and messy. If I’m more relaxed, it tends to come out clean, simple, and structured.

My brain is usually running on several channels at once, so it’s completely normal for me to be working on a digital layout, dabbling in a hybrid project, and getting messy with art journaling or mixed media—all at the same time.

Here are a few of my go-to tools: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CC + my MacBook; Photos: Canon Rebel or iPhone; Hybrid: Cricut Joy + sewing machine; Art Journaling: watercolors, stencils, and artsticks

And when it comes to embellishments—digital or physical—I’m always reaching for messy threads, ribbons, and Polaroids. Always the Polaroids.
