Pocket Scrapping meets Art Journaling + a Challenge!

real life recorded

Hi, everyone! Sarah, here. I’m so excited to share a project with you that I’ve been working on this year. I got an amazing deal on a Snap! album last December and thought it would be fun to create a hybrid pocket version of an art journal. So I set to work and created this page as a sort of jumping off point.

I had such a hard time waiting for 2014 to start so I could create more pages for this album. One layout and I was already hooked. As soon as January rolled around, I went about documenting my One Little Word.

I’ve had so much fun creating pages for this album over the past few months and I’m so happy to be able to share this project that has brought me such joy with all of you today.

If you’re interested in seeing more of my work check out my Snap! Album Project Scrap Stack here.

And now for the exciting news! Over the course of the summer I’ll be issuing challenges in the Art Journaling forum, for those of you that would like to join in and create your own pocket style art journaling project. They will be posted every 2 weeks starting today, and you can create them either hybrid or digitally. This first challenge is sponsored by Valeria of Little Butterfly Wings. She has graciously agreed to give everyone who participates in the challenge a $2 coupon to her store.

The first challenge is to scrap a personal goal. It can be big or little, long term or short term. My goal is to enjoy today more, and stop spending all of my time and energy wishing for tomorrow (and whatever it is that I think it may bring).

Here’s my page.

First up is one from Aaron (sirscrapalot). He created his digitally and I just love how it turned out. He picked the perfect word art and photos for his page, and it really captures his goal to become a school administrator.

Dalis stepped a little outside the box, and while not technically a pocket page, she did you use journaling cards to complete her layout. One of the journaling cards of course is the main sentiment of the page, and the other she blended into the background. This is such a fun way to use journaling cards, and adds a bit of extra flair to her page.

The last one I have is from Danielle (sushimom). I seriously love all of the texture and layers and fun extras on her cards.

If you would like to participate in the challenge , just post your layout in the gallery (it must at least be 50% TLP product per gallery guidelines) and then link us up in the challenge thread, here. All layouts posted by 11:59 p.m. EDT on June 21st will receive a $2 coupon the the Little Butterfly Wings store. How awesome is that?
Also, make sure to check the Art Journaling forum in two weeks to check out the next challenge. I can’t wait to see how y’all run with this project!
