October Challenges
Hello there! Polly Karen here and it’s another brand new month and that means another batch of challenges here! This year we added one more challenge each month to give you more opportunities for creating pages! Now instead of 7 monthly challenges, we’ve added an eighth challenge. You do not have to complete all 8 challenges in order to have a change to win a guest spot on the creative team either, we added another one for those who have requested more challenges and you still only have to complete 7 of them to be considered for a guest spot on the creative team! You can choose one to skip if you want! So, mostly everything remains the same. You complete challenges in order to earn a coupon of your next purchase in the store (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%) AND everyone who completes at least 7 challenges will be considered for a one month guest spot on the creative team (The Pollys). So let’s take a look at this month’s new batch of challenges!
1. Style Challenge – Heather (talktoheather) is hosting the Style Challenge for October. Heather wants you to think about a style that you struggle with or that you may not normally create and then challenge yourself to stretch yourself and try that style. Heather normally doesn’t do art journaling type pages, so she chose that style to stretch her creativity and made this awesome layout:
2. Random Challenge – Lori (lcpereyra) is the host for October’s Random Challenge. Lori is challenging you to create a layout for the background paper, use a paper that has words on it. Here is a lovely example created by her:
3. Template Challenge – Amanda (MandaKay) is hosting the Template Challenge for October. The challenge is to use the free template supplied by Paislee Press and create a layout using it. Here’s a look at the free template followed by a sample created by Amanda:
4. Photography Challenge – The Photography Challenge for this month is hosted by Julie (mrs2a50) and her challenge for you and your photography is to pay attention to perspective. Try to change your perspective as you’re taking pictures to see what an impact that can have on your photos. Here’s an example of getting low on the ground in Julie’s layout:
5. Scraplift Challenge – Cynthia (MrsPeel) is hosting the Scraplift Challenge for October. Rather than picking just one person to scraplift this month, Cynthia is challenging you to take a stroll through our designer’s personal galleries and scraplift one of their pages. You can see a list of all the designer’s galleries in the forum HERE. Cythina chose a layout from Mirjam’s Gallery (Pink Reptile Designs) and create her only lovely spin on the page:

6. Journaling Challenge – The Journaling Challenge for October is being hosted by Heather (HeatherB). Heather wants you to create a layout and journal about/with a list with at least five items on the list. I’m a total sucker for list layouts, so I expect to have a SUPER hard time picking only a couple favorites for my spotlight post at the end of the month. This sample layout created by Heather is no exception. I love it!
7. Inspiration Challenge – This month’s Inspiration Challenge is hosted by Ashley (ashleywb). She found a super cool piece of art on Pinterest to get your creative juice flowing. Take a look at the art and then see how it inspired Ashley’s layout below:
8. BYOC Challenge – Finally we have the BYOC Challenge. October’s BYOC Challenge will be posted to the forum on Friday, October 7th when all the new BYOC Products for October will be released in the store. This challenge, hosted by Renee (renee82), is to use 90% of the products on your page from the current BYOC collection and from at least 3 designers.

Another month and another 8 great new challenges to keep you busy scrapping. Once you create your own layouts inspired by these challenges, be sure to post them to the appropriate galleries as listed above.
