Happy October!!!!!! October is my favorite because I can eat pumpkin everything 100% guilt free. hehe. This month I'm challenging you to challenge yourself! What do I mean by this? What's a style that you would say... "oh that is so not my style." That's the style I want you to work with! For me it's mixed media / art journaling. So here was my attempt at breaking those bounds: Please remember the monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a guest spot on the Lilypad Creative Team! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges). I can't wait to see how you all challenge yourselves!
I guess I'll have to do a pocket page. Not exactly a normal pocket page, but anything with more than two photos is definitely outside my comfort zone
this was harsh... what is not my style at all? Scenic pictures, like flower photos, every kind of picture about landscape without people, never shoot them, if I need to show a view I always need people in it..so I adore to see amazing layouts about gardening or landscapes because is so not my style. and journalism about it? not my style Oh dear...very harsh for me to achieve
Yikes, tough one: I combined the artsy style with the "no photo" style. So hard to do for me, but the awesome kit by Little Butterfly Wings (AKA @valeriapiemonte) really inspired me! This is what I made:
so I dunno what to call this style - but it is hard for me - planner style, or filling up the page - I dunno, lol. I love all the Planner stuffs - but using them just does not happen ( I have bought so many and I just look at them, lol.) but I also have a hard time filling up the page with non-mixed media goodies and such - so I combined them - since me and real life planners don't mesh.
WOW, awesome challenge Heather! I might challenge myself as well and btw, great takes on the challenge, girls!! I'm feeling so much inspired by you!
My challenge would probably be making a layout with multiple photos; a really clean looking one OR how about a TWO-PAGE spread???? Lots of choices ladies....
For me it's templates. I have butt-loads of templates and I rarely use them. I know... they are suppose to make your life easier, but for me I tend to struggle with them. I haven't figured out why, they just do. So I scrapped one of Liz's fun templates from this set: And here is my scrap and I luv how it turned out. Yeah me!!!
True white space....I try..then I add a pattern paper or I put journaling in the space or something. Even uploading this, I was itching to add just a little something more.
Thank you for hosting this challenge. Usually do not do a lot of blocking but I really have enjoyed making this page and I might just do more blocked pages. You can see the LO here in the gallery.
Ok, here's my layout. It's not really my style because I usually only scrap double page layouts. If you see a single page layout from me, you know it's for a challenge. Also, my layouts almost always have more than 2 pictures. However, this one will get printed in a calendar that I'm making for my daughter.
