Hello everyone! I (Polly Karen) am waking up a VERY happy Cubs fan today. I stayed up very late to watch them play in game 7 of the World Series and they won! Woo-hoo! So for it to be November and my team still playing baseball, is just magical! I let my kiddos stay up for most of the game too and it was super fun to share that memory with them. You better believe I was taking pictures so I can scrap all about it! So, speaking of scrapping… the real reason I am here is to give you a look at the brand new batch of challenges that we have for this month.
Each month we have 8 brand new challenges that are posted in the forum Challenge Pad on the 1st. You can use the challenges simply to inspire you to keep creating new layouts OR you can also earn yourself a fabulous coupon for your next shopping trip in the Lilypad Store. (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%) AND everyone who completes at least 7 challenges will be considered for a one month guest spot on the creative team (The Pollys). So let’s take a look at this month’s new batch of challenges!
1. Journaling Challenge – The Journaling Challenge for November is being hosted by Lori (lcpereyra). Lori is challenging you to create a layout and journal about something that really matters. She even has some great journaling prompts in the forum to get you started. Here is a lovely sampmle page that Lori created:
2. Template Challenge – Ashley (ashleywb) is hosting the Template Challenge for November. The challenge is to use the free template supplied by Sara Gleason and create a layout using it. Here’s a look at the free template followed by a sample created by Ashley:
3. Random Challenge – November’s Random Challenge is hosted by Heather (talktoheather) and because November is the 11th month of the year, Heather wants you to create a layout and use 11 of something (sprinkles, satmpes, letters in your title, buttons, papers, etc.). Here is a sample layout that she created using 11 patterned papers:
4. Inspiration Challenge – The Inspiration Challenge for this month is hosted by Farrah and she wants you to create a layout with a recipe on it. (perfect for capturing family favorites around the holidays). Here is a great sample recipe layout that Farrah created:
5. Scraplift Challenge – This month’s scraplift challenge, hosted by Renee (renee82) is to find a layout in Roxana’s gallery that you love and then create a layout inspired by her page. Julie picked this page from Roxana’s gallery and then created the following scraplifted layout:
6. Style Challenge – The Style Challenge for November is hosted by Julie (mrs2a50). She even challenged herself with this one! Julie wants you to create a “storyteller” layout that includes at least half your page filled with meaningful journaling. She created this gorgeous layout to get you started:
7. Photography Challenge – Amanda (MandaKay) is hosting the Photography Challenge for this month. Amanda would like you to take a picture of something nostalgic and then create a layout with that photo. Here is a layout Amanda created with a program from her uncle’s funeral that reminded her of a reading she learned when she was younger:
8. BYOC Challenge – Finally we have the BYOC Challenge. November’s BYOC Challenge will be posted to the forum tomorrow Friday, November 4th when all the new BYOC Products for November will be released in the store. This challenge, hosted by Heather (HeatherB), is to use 90% of the products on your page from the current BYOC collection and from at least 3 designers.
Challenge Galleries: (post your pages to these galleries)
Another month and another 8 great new challenges to keep you busy scrapping. Once you create your own layouts inspired by these challenges, be sure to post them to the appropriate galleries as listed above. Then be sure to also post them to the appropriate thread in the challenge forum. See the thread HERE for further challenge guidelines and see the November Challenge Pad HERE to get started! Don’t forget to post all of your completed layouts in the Challenge Layouts thread so we can be sure to get you the proper coupon at the end of the month. I’ll be back near the end of the month to shine the spotlight on some of the pages created for these challenges! I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Happy scrapping!
