Hey all, Polly Jewelle here! I am thrilled to bring you another TLP member spotlight! I had the opportunity to chat with RaquelS this week. Grab a drink, sit back, and enjoy getting to know more about her!
Jewelle: What is your IRL name and your user name?
RaquelS: My name is Raquel Sabido and my diginame is raquels.
J: Could you provide a picture of yourself so we can see who you are?
J: Where do you call home?
R: I live in Waco, Texas also known as the home of the Baylor Bears. Sic’ Em, Bears! I am originally from Mexico, but Texas became my home ever since I was a young girl.
J: Digital or Hybrid? Both?
R: I started with paper scrapbooking quite a few years ago, but once I discovered the digital world in 2011 I haven’t gone back. I get more layouts done this way and I completely love it!
J: How long have you been scrapping?
R: It’s been seven years. Wow! I can’t believe it’s been that long! :-D
J: What is the starting point for your pages – photos, the story, products?
R: I’m attracted to color and all the wonderful scrapbooking supplies, so I can’t help starting my pages based on the products I have purchased. Then I select my photo and complete the page with a bit of journaling.
J: How would you describe your style?
R: I’m a very linear person when it comes to design. I love grids and straight lines, however I balance my pages with lots of bold colors, patterns, buttons and splashes of confetti or paint. So I guess you could call it “linear whimsy”.
J: Any must-have items or techniques on all of your pages?
R: I love buttons and all sorts of pretty flowers – I know they’re basic staples but they make my inner girl so happy!
J: Do you listen to music while you scrap? What kind?
R: I’m currently listening to Mindy Gledhill’s Pocketful of Poetry. It is such a whimsical album full of sweet stories.
J: What’s your favorite snack (if any) while you scrap?
R: I scrap around 4 pm so I really don’t eat anything until dinnertime.
J: What time of day do you feel most creative?
R: I’m a morning person and if I had it my way I would scrap as soon as I get up from bed.
J: Share with me the top 3 layouts (links please!) that you’ve created:
R: My son is the greatest blessing I have received. He’s featured in most of my layouts:
I love these photos. I feel so complete with the love of my husband and my little boy.
I just love the way my parents love each other. I documented their story as a simple way to show my love and gratitude towards them.
