Hey all, Polly Jewelle here! I am excited to bring you another TLP member spotlight! I had the opportunity to chat with mrphoto this week. She is such a sweetheart always leaving comments in the forum. I also can’t get enough of her pocket pages she creates. Enough of my rambling, lets sit back and take some time to get to know mrphoto a little better!
Jewelle: What is your IRL name and your user name?
mrphoto: Maribel (mrphoto)
J: Could you provide a picture of yourself so we can see who you are?
J: Where do you call home?
M: I have lived in Rhode Island for most of my life.
J: Digital or Hybrid? Both?
M: 100% digital
J: How long have you been scrapping?
M: I started scrapping in May of 2012, before that I was just sticking 4×6 photos in a photo album.
J: What is the starting point for your pages – photos, the story, products?
M: I think that most of the times it’s the photos that get me started. But not always. I do like to have the photos be the main focus of my pages.
J: How would you describe your style?
M: I would say my style is clean but I don’t consider myself a minimal scrapper or full page scrapper. I do love playing around with lots of elements on my pages. Also, I almost always have some journaling.
J: Any must-have items or techniques on all of your pages?
M: I love the finishing touch that stitches give to a layout. I also love playing with shadows, separating them into another layer and warping them to make them look more realistic.
J: Share a favorite tip or trick
M: Something many of us as memory keepers tend to forget is to include ourselves in the story of our lives. I know that I mainly focus on my kids but I do try to be in some pictures for my project life pages at least weekly if not every two weeks. So, hand the camera over to someone else or use a remote or self timer!
J: Awesome tip Maribel thanks for sharing!
J: Do you listen to music while you scrap? What kind?
M: I don’t listen to music but I do have the TV on for background noise. It’s usually set to CBS which means I watch the news, daytime shows and soap operas.
J: What’s your favorite snack (if any) while you scrap?
M: I don’t snack while I scrap but I do have my morning coffee and occasional green tea.
J: What time of day do you feel most creative?
M: Definitely after I wake up, while drinking my morning coffee.
J: Share with me the top 3 layouts (links please!) that you’ve created.
M: I love this PL page where I am with the kids playing
M: I really love this one inspired by a book cover, it was fun creating it!
M: Lastly, I just love how the colors pop off that dark background.
Thank you Maribel for letting us learn more about you!
