Hey all, Polly Jewelle here! I am excited to bring you another TLP member spotlight! Kimberlee is a regular here at TLP . Her mixed media pages and pocket pages are just a few highlights in her robust gallery. Its hard to tear your eyes away once you start browsing through it. Everyone should hop on over a take a peek at her gallery, but first lets sit back and take some time to get to know more about Kimberlee.
Jewelle: What is your IRL name and your user name?
Kimberlee: Kimberlee aka Scrapsandsass.
Jewelle: Where do you call home?
Kimberlee: Puyallup, Washington. It is a small town in the Puget Sound, about thirty miles south of Seattle.
J: What kind of scrapper are you? Digital or Hybrid? Both?
K: Digital. I started out as a paper scrapper, but cannot seem to get back to it. I’d like to be hybrid, but can’t print everything at the moment, so I’m a digi girl, but also hoard paper supplies.
J: How long have you been scrapping?
K: I started paper scrapping back in 1998 with Creative Memories. I did one whole scrapbook in a month (for my boyfriend at the time) and got burned out so didn’t go back to it. I started dabbling with digi in 2004 and did that for about a year or so and gave it up. I collected supplies until the end of 2010 when I found TLP and got re-hooked on digi and haven’t stopped since.
J: What is the starting point for your pages – photos, the story, products?
K: Probably the products.
J: How would you describe your style?
K: A hot mess. I don’t have a style that I can point to. I’m all over the place. I guess eclectic would be the best description.
J: Any must-have items or techniques on all of your pages?
K: Right now I don’t have any must-haves, but I always love stitches or different embellishments. Viewmaster reels always suck me in to buying a kit for some reason. I think color is one of my must-haves if that counts as a must-have. I love color, and the brighter the better. So sometimes, I just take things up in the saturation level a bit and make it loud.
J: Could you share a favorite tip or trick?
K: Don’t be afraid making of photoless pages. It isn’t really a tip, but a suggestion. If you don’t have the right pictures to tell the story, go ahead and tell it without a photo. Sometimes those pages can touch people in ways you don’t expect.
J: Do you listen to music while you scrap? What kind?
K: Most of the time I’m listening to cartoons or ABC Mouse because the 4-year old is on the computer opposite from me. If I have headphones on, I love to listen to upbeat, dance-worthy music that makes me smile.
J: What’s your favorite snack (if any) while you scrap?
K: I don’t really have a favorite snack other than warm chocolate pudding at the moment, but that doesn’t lend itself to eating while scrapping. LOL.
J: What time of day do you feel most creative?
K: Between 7:30 and 11:00 at night for scrapping or writing. Painting and other crafty stuff is late-morning.
J: Share with us the top 3 layouts that you’ve created.
K: 2014 Cover
K: LOL
K: Um Wow
