May Challenges

Hello everyone!  It’s Polly Karen back again with a look at our new batch of monthly challenges for May.  Each month we have 8 brand new challenges that are posted in the forum Challenge Pad on the 1st day of the month. (the BYOC Challenge is posted on the 1st Friday of the month.)  You can use the challenges simply to inspire you to keep creating new layouts OR you can also earn yourself a fabulous coupon for your next shopping trip in the Lilypad Store.  (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%).  Those who complete at least 7 challenges will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate!  Isn’t that an awesome prize?!?!  You’ll get lots of great memories captured in your scrapbooks AND you could win a fat gift certificate prize!!!  Pretty great, right?!  So let’s take a look at this month’s new batch of challenges!

1.  Photography Challenge – The first challenge in the lineup for May is the Photography Challenge hosted by Jenn (jk703).  Jenn is challenging you to create a layout that features photos of something to do with Nature.  Here is a stunning layout she created for the nature theme:

2.  Style Challenge – The Style Challenge for this month is being hosted by Ashley (ashleywb).  Ashley would like you to create a layout this month that features a diptych which is 2 separate images places side by side.  Here’s a fabulous diptych layout created by Ashley:

3.  Scraplift Challenge – Natasha (bcnatty) is hosting the Scraplift Challenge for this month and she has to decided to pick the Designer’s Layout Gallery for you to scraplift from this month.  Simply take a look at the Designer’s Layout Gallery, find a layout you love and then create a layout inspired by it.  Here is a look at a layout that Natasha picked, followed by her scraplifted version:

4.  Inspiration Challenge – The next challenge for May is the Inspiration Challenge hosted by Kayla (keepscrappin’).  Kayla is challenging you to create a layout inspired by flowers.   She says to think about greenery and flowers that come along with spring.  Here’s a fabulous flowery layout Kayla created:

5.  Random Challenge – For the Random Challenge, Courtney (bestcee) wants you to count to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.  She say you can use those numbers and pick the supplies for each number.  So you can use 1 of any item, 2 of a different item, etc.  Here’s Courtney’s sample layout for her challenge:

6.  Journaling Challenge – The Journaling Challenge for May is being hosted by Heather (HeatherB) and wants you to create a layout that captures “an ordinary day” and includes at least 5 sentences about that ordinary day.  She would also like you to use “An Ordinary Day” in either your title or your journaling.  Here’s Heather’s sample layout:

7.  Template Challenge – The Template Challenge for May is being hosted by Christa (cfile).  All you have to do to play along is download the free template made by Sara Gleason and then create a layout using that fun template.  Here’s a look at the free template followed by a sample layout that Heather made using it:

8.  BYOC Challenge – Finally we have the BYOC Challenge.  This challenge will be hosted and posted by Lori (lcpereyra) Friday, May 3rd, when the BYOC Collection for May will be released in the store.  The challenge will be to use 90% of the products on your page from this month’s BYOC collection and from at least 3 designers.
