Around this time, I had a conversation about the idea of “it’s not a priority.” When I was busy saying, “I have no time”, I was really saying, “It’s not a priority right now.” If something was important to get done, I would clearly find the time to do it. Saying that I didn’t have time was just giving an excuse. If I wanted to make sure I was preserving my families’ memories, then I needed to make it a priority.
If scrapping is a priority for you, I’ve got a list of 9 Creative Ways to Make Time for Scrapping. Check it out.
9 Creative Ways to Make Time for Scrapping
- Treat it as a reward – Got some housework done for the day? Let yourself scrap for 30 minutes.
- Do a little each night – Batch scrapping is when you do one specific step on multiple layouts at a time, I do this regularly.
- Set aside a day each week, free of other obligations – Maybe Sunday afternoons you scrap, no matter what.
- Do it when the feeling strikes, no matter what – This is kind of drastic, but when you feel it, put aside everything else.
- Schedule it in. Add it to your To Do List – If you are a schedule fanatic like me, this can really help to get everything done.
- Set a goal to strive for – “I am going to do 12 layouts this month” that will keep you motivated and moving
- Join a Creative Team – Make scrapping a job.
- Team up with a friend – Keep each other on track.
- Find unconventional times to scrap – Stay up an hour later, get up an hour earlier.
