Make It Monday Sympathy Card

Welcome!  Polly Robin here with another Make It Monday post. Unfortunately, I find myself in need of a sympathy card today so I thought I’d share with you how I made this one.  I knew I wanted to keep it simple, so I went looking through my stash for some pretty, yet tranquil patterned papers. I found exactly what I needed in the You Give Me Wings Kit by Rachel Jefferies:

That was the hardest part of this card – finding just the right paper!  Now, remember I said I wanted simple?  That is exactly what I did.  Here are my steps:

  1. I printed out a paper and cut two rectangles out of it. The first was 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 and the smaller one was 3-3/4 by 5 inches

  1. I matted both with a black cardstock cut just slightly bigger
  2. I adhered craft foam onto the back of the smaller cardstock to give it some dimension and then stacked the smaller rectangle one on top of the larger one.
  3. I created a sentiment with a stamp and die cut, which I used foam tape to adhere to the front of the card.

This is what I came up with:

Sometimes simple is better and seems appropriate in this case.  Thank you for checking out my card!
