Make It Monday Postage Card

It’s November y’all and that means I am making Christmas cards each and every day!!  Every year I tell myself I’ll start in July – or better yet, I’ll make 10 each month, but do I??? No!  I donate cards to the local nursing homes, and they have to be delivered by Thanksgiving, so I need to get a move on ????  Today I’ll show you how I’m making a postage collage card using Be Merry from Elif Sahin Designs.  I adore her elements and since my schedule is so tight, I especially love that she includes a print file with her kits!

Okay, let me show you how I started.  I have created a template of my postage die in Photoshop just so I can play around with designs and resizing elements if I need to.  I came up with this design:

Next, I printed 6 of each of my elements on one sheet:

Then I sent them to my Scan N Cut and cut them out.  Now you can fussy cut these because the elements aren’t intricately shaped, but I like to let my machine do the work ????  I have a pile ready to assemble:

Finally, I stamped my sentiment, cut out my backing paper, adhered everything together on my card base and my first card is done!

I always assemble one card to see if I need any tweaks before wasting paper or time.  I’m glad I did because once I put it together, I realized I would like it with a red mat rather than a black one.  So I made another doing just that and I like it oh so much better!

Okay, that’s two down. Time to batch the rest.  I’ll treat it like an assembly line with stamping all of the postage dies at once, adhering all of the foam circles to the elements, etc. etc.  Hopefully you and the recipients like the card!  See y’all next time with another Make It Monday hybrid card!
