Hello pad scrappers!!
My husband recently sent me a note letting me know that next Tuesday, February 4, is Mail Carrier Appreciation Day. I have a family of letter writers. My husband and our kids love sending and receiving letters. So, we have a great appreciation for our mail carrier who faithfully brings those letters to our mail box.
I made a quick card that we’ll be handing to our mail carrier next Tuesday and thought I would share it with you today so you’ll be inspired to thank your mail carrier as well.
I used Postscript by One Little Bird Designs to create this card. I loved the little mailbox, envelopes and postage stamp elements!!
I also loved the three little hearts on the “love always” stamp in the kit, but didn’t really want to use that sentiment, so I’m going to show you how I incorporated those adorable hearts into the card.
First I selected the stamp and brought it into Photoshop by double-clicking on it in Bridge.
Next, I used the Rectangular Marquee Tool to draw a rectangle around the three hearts in the stamp.
I then used the move tool to drag the hearts from the stamp to the document where I was creating the card. I duplicated these hearts (ctrl+J) to make a second set on the other side of the sentiment.
You can use this technique any time you want to use only part of an element in a kit.
I printed the card on coordinating patterned paper background and I’ll pair it with a Starbucks card for our mail carrier.
I love making and giving cards to all the people in my life that can go unnoticed or unappreciated. This is a simple and easy way to show kindness!
