January M3 is Here!

I hope you’ve all had a great January so far.  If you’re participating in our Month of Challenges, you are almost there!!!  Hang in there and finish strong!  There is a handsome reward for those who finish.  🙂

In other news, we have a new M3 collection debuting this week.  For those of you who are just joining us, M3 stands for Mixed Media Monthly.  Every month, some of our most talented mixed media designers collaborate to create a collection of products that are centered around a color palette and three key words.  This month’s words are PROMISING/YEAR/RESOLVE.  This month’s designers are Paula Kesselring, Lynne-Marie, Little Butterfly Wings and Dawn Inskip.  The palette this month is a warm, rich earthy one.  Check out the main kit for this month:

After the main kit is released, each designer can also create an add-on kit or two that you can use to personalize or accessorize the main kit. There are some really lovely papers, paint and images in the add-ons this month.

Lastly, a note about a change in M3 designers.  Our dear and lovely Nancie Rowe Janitz has decided to retire and pursue some of her personal dreams.  We bid her a very fond farewell and wish her all the best in her new endeavors.  Her entire shop is on sale until the end of this month.  Please do yourself a favor and check out her gorgeous designs.  Her paintings are in a class of their own.

I’m a creative who pulls inspiration from all corners of life—both the joyful highs and the real-life moments that punch you in the gut. Honestly, I don’t think I can pin down a single scrapbooking style for myself, so let’s just go with eclectic. My layouts really depend on my mindset. If I’m in a deep, cerebral mood, you’ll likely see something chaotic and messy. If I’m more relaxed, it tends to come out clean, simple, and structured.

My brain is usually running on several channels at once, so it’s completely normal for me to be working on a digital layout, dabbling in a hybrid project, and getting messy with art journaling or mixed media—all at the same time.

Here are a few of my go-to tools: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CC + my MacBook; Photos: Canon Rebel or iPhone; Hybrid: Cricut Joy + sewing machine; Art Journaling: watercolors, stencils, and artsticks

And when it comes to embellishments—digital or physical—I’m always reaching for messy threads, ribbons, and Polaroids. Always the Polaroids.
