I don’t know about you, but sometimes I struggle with pictures for my Project Life album. Either I haven’t taken enough pictures, or I end up taking the same pictures over and over again. I often find, when documenting my everyday life weekly, it’s hard to find variety in the pictures I have to represent the week. Last year, as the weeks progressed, I found that I had to start coming up with some creative ideas for pictures of our everyday life.
I’ve included all kinds of things on my pages. Sometimes I take pictures of everyday items, like our grill. Other times I take pictures of a work in progress, like my lesson planning or working on a Project Life spread. I’ve even taken pictures in our bathroom, including a picture of our toilet to document one nasty stomach bug. Creative ideas, pictures of things that are part of your everyday, and creative approaches can help save your pages from the same picture over and over again.
I wish I had more recent pictures to share with you, but I am recovering from a major hard drive crash this week. Luckily, the Pollys have helped me out and have tons of great examples of creative pictures to document everyday life. They have some AWESOME ideas for creative photos to document everyday life!
I love all of the different detail shots, and the creative approaches to getting the right picture. Thanks so much to the Pollys who shared. There was one technique that Polly Em shared, about using a toilet paper roll to get an unique look to her shots. She takes the toilet paper roll, and shoots the picture through the roll. Check it out.
I hope all of this incredible inspiration will help give you ideas for pictures that you can use to document your everyday life. What’s your favorite shot to take to document everyday life?

Shooting through the tissue roll – what a great idea! When I was young and poor (as opposed to being just poor now) I’d stretch a silk stocking over the lens of my Cannon AE1 to get an interesting textural effect. Fancy filters are still pretty pricey … Thanx for the tip.
