Fun 4th Celebrations!

I always look forward to seeing everyone’s pictures on what they do on the 4th of July. From fireworks, cookouts, parades, face painting, red white & blue outfits to sparklers with the kiddies! But y’all – I started snooping around on what other places do around the US and I thought it was too entertaining not to share!

San Francisco, CA has it’s own Mime troupe that performs free on this day. They were founded in 1959 and have been performing around the city ever since.

In New Mexico, the Mescalero Apache reservation is host to a tradition Native American ceremony in which teenage girls perform rituals such as dancing, music and athletic events in order to celebrate their coming of age. This is open to the public.

In South Carolina, the Murrells Inlet celebrates a parade of boats like no other. This tradition started in 1984 and it is the most creative around!

While most homes will be grilling hotdogs and burgers, in New England, they celebrate the 4th of July with Salmon! This dates back to the first holiday celebrated in New England and it coincided with salmon season.

If you love to celebrate with food and I mean CELEBRATE, then the annual hot dog eating contest in New York is for you! They have both men and women’s groups and it is usually aired on ESPN every year.

Now being from Texas, I’m not gonna lie – – this last one is my favorite. In South Central, Kentucky, a few locals gather and shoot up obsolete electronic equipment. LOL! This one had me laughing so hard. #mypeople

I hope you have a fun & SAFE 4th of July and please let me know if you have any mimes
