What are you Driving?| Pad Patter 08.01

Love your loaner, @AnneofAlamo :) I drive a white 2015 Dodge Charger! It was my dream car for a long time and I love, love, love it!! It's all wheel drive and does fantastic in the snow! DH drives a 2012 Camaro. It's pretty, but I hate driving it lol and it goes nowhere in the winter!

I drive a Nissan Armada - er, no idea what year it is. 2012, 2013? I really don't know! We also have a Jeep Wrangler 2013, I think? I'm so bad at remembering dates.

I have a Volkswagen Golf. I have no idea how old it is, but like it’s in the not old but also not young category.
(So no, this is not a photo of my actual car)

But now I’ve moved to the city where I work, I mostly drive my bicycle!
It’s 8 minutes from home to school (I’m a college teacher) by bike or car either way. I am in looooove with that. 8 minutes! Even when I’m late I’m still way on time.

This is it!
(Also sneak peek into my messy garage-ish space in my new house! Whiii)

Ain’t that a beauty!! Lol!
It’s actually a proper nice bike which I’m very happy with.

Nice loaner wheels Anne!!

I traded an Audi Q5 in for a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica van --- it's nice, but I miss my SUV a lot!! But - with three grandbabies, the van makes more gramma-sense!

I'm still driving my 2004 Toyota Sienna van we bought when I was pregnant with our 2nd baby. I hope it lasts many more years, until we can afford a car payment. Crossing fingers and knocking wood.

We are in the middle of all sorts of car issues at the moment. We have a Citroen Picasso - 11 years old. Our normal mechanic closed down so when it started making awful noises took it to the new specialist mechanic who said once you get new tyres it will be fine - a month later, new tyres and battery and still making awful grindy sounds, turns out he totally missed the engine mount disintegrating and transmission failures... Not going back there except to maybe yell at them a lot :duh

Cannot wait to get a new car but can't afford it for a few months so costly repairs it is...

I drive a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse (bought new) - we bought this when we were transporting 3 grandkids every other weekend and I loved the 3rd row option. Now that we don't transport the grandkids as much it is a tad big for me but I love it and probably will always want this vehicle.

Hubby drives a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado PU -- he has had a pickup for many years but this was actually the first 4 wheel drive vehicle he had (bought in 2011).

We also have a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado that hubby bought last year for his birthday (inheritance gift). I think he loves it more than me. We have had almost a year and have only put about 3,000 miles on it. We did not drive it for a good 3 months this year (winter months and hubby would not drive in the snow/ice - did not want road salt to get on it).

As you can see we are Chevrolet lovers.

We actually have for much of our married life because we hate having car payments and I tend to be a homebody, so it works pretty well for us.
This is us! Except, we hate car payments and insurance and gas for a second car. So, except for a brief 1 month period when we were selling the old car, and had bought the new, we've only had 1 car - 17 years and counting! He really wants a truck, but we haven't justified it yet.

He's 6'8"- the struggle is real. So mini van it is!
Mini vans have head space? This is good info. DH hates all the cars we've owned, and he's only 6"1'.

A SIX DOOR extended cab pickup truck
Um, that's so awesome! But where do you park it?

It’s actually a proper nice bike which I’m very happy with.
That's an awesome trade! I love that you can bike everywhere now!

Our family drives a 2015 Red Hyundai Tucson. Okay, I mostly drive it. DH walks to work right now, so for the first time in our marriage, I'm the primary driver! It's kinda fun!

Not my car, but ours looks a lot like this - except dirty! Same model, etc.

I love that you can bike so much! My husband used to bike to work when we lived in South Carolina and it was one of his favorite things. It was six miles one way and there was a few routes he could take that would make it longer, which he often did because he loved to challenge himself and he just loves to ride. Now, we live six miles from work but a small section is on the interstate and he cannot ride his bike there. There is an alternate route, but it doubles the commute and it's just too far for him to bike. I SAY I like living out on the edge of the suburbs, but it would definitely be nice to be able to bike to so many places.

@bestcee - ours does. He still has to scootch the seat almost all the way back and then lean it back slightly so that his vision is not obstructed by the top of the van. Some one, even an adult, can sit behind him too. In the impala no one, not even a toddler could sit behind him comfortably :(

I love driving the Dodge Charger. We have one at work. I've driven it for work travel one time and loved it. But the only thing is that I do not like having to crouch down to get into the car. Which brings me to my vehicle...

I'm still driving my first vehicle out of college. A 2001 Ford F-150 supercab. Some days, I wish it was a crewcab or it had 4x4. But I love it. It's at 233K miles which is not bad for a 17 year old truck! And it's still on its original engine. Only thing replaced on it is the clutch and recently, the fuel pump. Everything else (aside from tires and brake pads) is original. :dance

My DH is on his 3rd vehicle - a 2012 Nissan Murano. It is the family ride and we like it. Only gripe is that we have to get a transmission flush at least every year or so because the transmission is a weakling. It starts to whine on incline, especially during the summer. I've already read that it's a Nissan annoyance. The other gripe is that it has cheap visors. The driver's side failed and just recently, the passenger side failed. It will not stay up anymore. And it's not cheap to have someone fix it. :disagree

One day, when I decide having vehicle payments is not bad, I'll upgrade my truck to a 4x4 crewcab but for now, I like not having a payment. We are a little over 1/2 a year from paying off my DH's Nissan and no more payments! :yahoo

I did a decade of "hard time" in my mom hauler, a Honda Odyssey. When we sold it, I decided I was going to treat myself to an Infiniti QX60. I really love it and now that we are well outside the smashed goldfish on the floor/carseat stage, I feel like I can enjoy it. LOL

I have a tiny Mazda3 hatchback 2012 or 2014? No clue. Love it but Bianca's hockey gear seems to be outgrowing my tiny car.

2013 Honda Odyssey. I had an Impala that I liked, but my hubby is just too tall for it to be comfortable and safe driving it with 2 kids. Since we are a one vehicle (+hubby's work truck) family, we had to have something that we could drive more than an hour in without stopping to stretch his legs. He's 6'8"- the struggle is real. So mini van it is!
As a woman over 6' tall, you may have just sold me on the Odyssey. My brother, who's taller than I am, has one. He's told me "get an Odyssey" but has never expounded on why so I ignored him lol. #siblings

I drove a 2006 Honda Odyssey minivan for 9 years and loved it. Then in August 2015, I upgraded to a brand new 2016 Honda Pilot. I've had it for 3 years and it's still like new. While I LOVE driving a SUV, I do miss the automatic van doors when driving carpool.

We also have a 2008 Nissan Altima (kid car #1), a 2014 Toyota Camry (kid car #2) and a brand spankin new 2018 Jeep Wrangler (hubby's midlife crisis....hehe). He said he would take one for the team and get a new car so the kids could take cars to college. Such a sacrifice, right! His jeep is the only one we have payments on, so that's not bad.

Just in the past couple months I upgraded from my 2014 Ford Flex (looks like a hearse...but drives amazing!! I loved that box!!) to a 2017 GMC Yukon XL. Although the Ford Flex was a 7 seater, it was just getting too small for us...I now have 3 growing teenagers and a toddler (who takes up more space when travelling, for sure!!) and we just didn't fit in the Flex anymore. And I have to admit...I LOVE my Yukon!!! It drives SO nice, and fits us all so well...and you just can't beat the heated and cooled seats and steering wheel...and the sunroof...I love the sunroof!!
My DH has a 2016 Ford F150...needs it for work...also a very nice vehicle, which we use for our running around, as long as we don't have all the kids with us because it only seats 5.
