Oh my gosh! I LOVE seeing all of these so much! You two are crazing talented! @mcurtt did you HANDSTITCH all that quilting yourself?

All the sewing I did for a while was my DD's skating dresses. I made all of them in this layout (except for the blue one).

I bet you save so much money making these AND she could have exactly what she wanted this way. They are so cool! And I bet it was so fun to play with all the sparkly fun fabrics. I see those at JoAnns... but I have nothing in my world I could use those fun. :giggle 2 boys and a husband in my house and I'm don't even wear dresses anymore. I should make a fun art journal book cover or something with those fun fabrics.

I didn't want a big frilly wedding dress and my Mom is an expert seamstress who sewed a lot of clothes for me, my siblings, her grandchildren, and friends. So it was a good idea to ask her to make me a dress. Here are a quick photo of a couple of photos from my wedding album. I need to do a proper scan of the albums. Maybe a good pandemic project! I should have done it last month in honor of our 24th anniversary.

Oh! And my sister made my headpiece and bouquet of silk flowers. That's my Mom in the photo helping me prepare before the ceremony. And if you've seen photos of my husband in my scrapbook pages you may not recognize him, clean shaven here. It's the only time I've ever seen him that way. He shaved just for the wedding, for his mother. :lol

I learnt how to sew 20 years ago as part of the school curriculum but as my sight is so bad I can’t thread the needle it was kind of pointless continuing after those two years.

lol you're all awesome! i'd put in a photo of the buttons i replaced on a cardigan the other week but i wouldn't want to make all of you look bad! (yes, that's mostly the extent of my sewing skills!)

Yep, that's why it took me seven years. LOL!

Wow! That's so impressive! The quilt that my aunt is making me is king sized and when I offered to have it machined quilted with one of those long arm quilting machines, she jumped at that. She said it would be impossible on her small machine with a quilt that big and I don't think she does any hand quilting. Can't say I blame her. :giggle

You guys looks so happy. I love it. :) That's pretty funny that your wedding day was the only day he's shaved. Lol! Your mom did such a great job on your dress. It's so pretty. :agree

LOL! And that's what I do now, or mending. I hate mending...

I hate mending too... yuck. I have made all of B's halloween costumes and I made a lot of my niece's princesses outfits and dresses WAAAY before B was born.
